Again I feel like if you hold the WBC/WBA/IBF that's enough for me to consider you undisputed just holding two of the titles doesn't make you undisputed only in certain cases like if you hold 3 or 4 major titles and are stripped of one or don't pay sactioning fees for one of the belts.
The most recent undisputed champ is ward He cleaned out the division and made froch his ***** It's even close and no one questions it Duck weather at 147 would've had the honour if he beat manny, and Paul Williams
Ppl are saying. IBF WBC &WBA. but the wba is worthless in some cases what about the WBO???? OR the IBO??? The WBF??? LIKE I SAID......IT IS SUBJECTIVE NOWADAYS!!!!! If u duck # 2 u are a titlist. PERIOD.....EVEN IF U HOLD 6 WORLD TITLES. or if u only hold one but ur contemporaries hide behind promoters or networks u r undisputed.....
It's a little bit like when you pick up a Filipino tranny midget, take it home, make sweet, tender love with it, and then it pulls out a stiletto and slices off one of your nipples while in a meth-induced rage. Then you're all "Hey, I treated you like a lady!"
Sounds promising, and ambitious. I hope they can work that out. Makes no mention of weightclasses involved. It would be nice if it encompasses all of them. Either they didn't invite the WBO or the invitation was declined. It doesn't bode well for their future relevance if they were left on the outside looking in on something as monumental as this might be.
How can you consider Golovkin undisputed if he has never beat a title holder in his career. Cotto has more claim based on beating Martinez - Pavlik - Taylor and Hopkins who was undisputed holding all 4 belts. Other number 1 champions are your opinion who is the best but that can be disputed. Golovkin, Mikey Garcia and Kovelev can all be disputed, Kovelev was offered a fight with Hopkins and turned it down before fighting Cleverly, and Garcia only holds a win over 1 of the belt holders at 130 lbs.
There will always be new up an coming fighters to challenge the throne but what a new fighter is doing doesn't take away what the champ has earn its called undisputed champ for a reason. I'm sure everybody knows the difference between a real Champ and a titlist. Take Thurman sinces he's in the most talked about division he is an interim titlist Maidana was the champ and the names on his resume reflect that win or lose. Technically you have to hold all four major title's (WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO) to be Undisputed Champ I just personally feel if you hold the top 3 I'd make an argument for it. If Thurman beat Mayweather for the WBC/WBA Title's then beat Porter for his IBF Title than Pacquiao for his WBO Title he'd be the Undisputed Champ there's no real argument you can make that Mayweather, Pacquiao, Porter aren't 3 of the top 4/5 @WW whoever wanted to call himself the man at WW would have to beat Thurman.
How do you feel about Cotto being considered undisputed? Now you can argue he only holds the WBC, but he beat Martinez, who beat Pavlik who beat Taylor who beat Hopkins who held the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO titles at the time.
I think you also have to hold the title for a bit, no sense in calling you undisputed if you relinquish as soon as you win it to avoid disputing it.
Technically he is the Lineal Champ not Undisputed, you can be mad at it that it wasn't your fighter that got the shot but what you cant argue is this from Hopkins-Taylor-Pavlik-Martinez-to now Cotto no fighter at MW currently has put in any of the work they did before they were able to call themselves the top dog. All the work Cotto has put in this is really the first time he's been the man to beat saying that though in order to call himself the true Undisputed Champ he'd have to beat Solimon, Quillin, & Golovkin for there title's and vise versa. The Lineal Champ is the man who beat the man Hopkins(Undisputed Champ) lost to Taylor lost to Pavlik lost to Martinez lost to Cotto(title's were stripped along the way by the lineage is clear). The Undisputed Champ can only become undisputed by fighting and defeating the other Champs(Solimon IBF, Quillin WBO, Golovkin WBA)
