I just watched the fight and I scored it for DeGale by two rounds. I think he did the more effective work and landed the sharper punches.

I also hate how DeGale was booed so strongly every time he raised his arms after that fight, seeing the blood run from his face and being booed after putting yourself on the line like that is just ****ing bull****.

Obviously I gotta give respect to Groves but I still believe DeGale won that fight by at least 1 or 2 rounds.

I hope the UK public warm to DeGale, he did win GB a gold medal after-all. I just think it was harsh to boo him after such a such a good fight.

Its a very close fight, a close score either way or a draw would be fair, I had it 114-114 first time and the second time I watched it 115-114 degale, but since degale is a annoying arrogant dick I dont mind that he lost, I was happy for groves I hope they can make a rematch in 3/4 years when they are at a higher level.

I thought it was a draw. But, DeGale should have been deducted a point by right for the elbows. He was filthy all fight. So, the decision was justified in my eyes.

DeGale lost the fight in the early rounds for me. Groves had 6 rounds in the bag by the 10th/11th on my card. At the most, DeGale got a draw...I had one round even I believe.

Yeah, Groves won the first few rounds but through-out the rest of the fight, it was very close but DeGale stole some rounds with his shaper punches and I really believe he snatched it in a close, close fight.

However, yeah, the elbows surprised me, I didn't think DeGale was that type of fighter. I guess the grudge between these two isn't for show.

But both guys will only get stronger from this fight and I think a rematch down the line is an absolute must. And both guys proved they are for real, tough guys with some great skills. I look forward to seeing where they both go from here.

Especially DeGale, he needed this loss more than Groves.

Degale should have had 2 points deducted

Had it a draw, thinks Degale has the more potential even though he's older and it's no bad thing for him to get a loss.

A loss is ok, being beaten less so...

I had it a draw without the point deduction, which should have happened. I pick groves as the winner. Degale looked clueless for the first 6 rounds.

On the subject of degale getting Booed. I have to admit that i didn't like him until he fought smith in liverpool. After that fight i really started to respect him. Unfortunately for degale in the run up to the Groves fight he was just an annoying twat, mouthing about ugly and ginger. Then trying to bet the purses because he was so sure of beating groves, he wanted to really hurt him financially on top of it. I was pretty sickened by his arrogance.

He really has to grow up and stop twat and maybe people will warm to him. The defeat should do his character the world of good. The only problem is once again the lesson is probably lost because he cant accept it.

He was outsmarted and out maneuvered. Groves has my support all the way now. Class act!

I thought groves won it by 1 or 2 rounds based his early work and even some of the late rounds. He had degale missing a bit and in my opinion did enough to nick the rounds. I had like 2 rounds even i think. It's easy to see you picking degale. Very close fight.

I agree, i had it to Degale, thought it was a clear win, thats after two viewings, i had it by 4 pts watching live and by 2 pts on second viewing a few days later.

As for the anti Degale mob, i hope/think they will be silenced in time by what he does in the ring in the future.

Watching live I thought Groves was a point up, but on a second watch, had George a clearer winner, by about 3 points. I found the commentary a bit bias, but that could just be me.
I did a post on the British forum titled "Why all of the hating for DeGale?"
    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=314116

Both fighters deserve massive credit for putting themselves on the line so early in their careers.

The result is good for British boxing as neither fighter suffered a bad KO and can go on. If one fighter had of been KOd he would have to rebuild from the bottom, but as it is, both are in the mix.
Due to how the fight finished we are fortunate to still have 2 good prospects instead of 1.
