Those are all post Froch fights. Bute beat Bika in a more convincing way than Ward did. He had nine title defence. Bute had a bad night in England and Froch took his soul. The question is did he give it back, yet.

There is a reason why both Kessler and Ward ducked Bute. Bute was good.

Bute beat Bika more impressively than Ward or Calzaghe.
Also beat Miranda more impressively than Ward.
That's 2 common opponents he had with Ward by the time the S6 ended and performed he better vs both.

Idiots always want to use hindsight and bring up Bute vs Froch as an excuse for Ward not completely cleaning out his division like he said he would before the Super 6 final.

You're an idiot, all those fights came after Froch. Bute is gonna come back and unify belts! I am convinced, he's just 35 but this is his last chance.

Degale has never looked close to being knocked out and Bute isn't busy enough nowadays to guarantee a decision. Degale will have to put in one lazy ass performance for Bute to get the win. I think Degale will be up for this one as I feel he will want to get one over on Froch and get Bute out real early.

Weird to see him downplayed as a B grade fighter when he had multiple victories over the B guys. He also beat Glen Johnson more clearly than Froch or Dawson did.

Froch whooped him, but that's with the benefit of hindsight that people act like he was terrible all along. If Ward thought he was easy money, he'd have taken the fight. Especially since Bute was willing to go to Oakland to fight and bargain with him to make it happen.

I don't think he'll pull the upset off against DeGale, but it would be cool if he did just as a measure of validation.

    @ Ol' Bub & technocrato

Yeah, Bute destroyed guys like Berrio who TKOed Stieglitz in Germany for the IBF title, Zuniga who couldn't be KOed by Cloud and DaGale even not in his prime anymore, Andrade who also TKOed Stieglitz in Germany and was beaten by Kessler via decision. Tough Miranda, Bika, clearer than Ward and others...

    .....which means what?

How does beating B and C fighters ages ago relate to an upcoming fight with Degale? Bute might be able to recapture some of the magic, but he'll have to prove it before I'll believe it.

Can Bute even safely make 168? It seemed like he was outgrowing the division years ago.

I really wish Bute the best for this fight. I will be ringside too.

$500 tickets and I bought two, to potentially see one of my fav boxers get beat. I really hope Bute pulls the upset, but Degale looks really good and confident lately and is rising fast.

I respect Bute but Froch took his soul really.
I don't see him ever competing at a high level again.

I'm convinced I'm gonna be laughing at you again, just like I did after I said Froch was gonna destroy Bute. I told you all he was a fraud and a one trick pony. A couple of years have gone by and you moronic Bute fans may have forgotten the harsh reality, but I'm reminding you that he's a hometown protected fraud and will never be the elite fighter you dream him to be.

Froch destroyed Bute and in some ways ruined him. That doesn't whrite off what Bute did before and how he did it. You are just being a hater by ignoring it.
