Eddie Hearn has always said that boxing on its own is a flawed business, its lucky that they have Darts, Snooker, etc, to fall back on.
Based on their schedule BoxNation look sure to screw the fans. I see 2 fights for Jan, not 4 domestic and 4 international. At the very least I expected the 4 domestics. With a stable of fighters and a tv channel, there is little excuse. I then expected the international bouts to be announced each weak. If they can't get the domestic fights lined up then they sure as **** need to start arranging some international bouts (and they have a number of fights to choose from).
Prem Sports have the right to Shobox cards.I dont know how long that deal is for though. Theres a Japanese card on New years eve and thats about it sadly:-(
Dirrel, Taylor, Perez and a bunch of prospects should be a shoe in for December 30th. Jan and Feb could be packed out. Berto vs Ortiz II on 11th Feb. Even Miranda vs Despaigne II on 2nd Feb. 4 or 5 prospects on that undercard and against each other. This is from fightnews.com and I'd like to see them all. SHOWTIME December 30 Verizon Arena, Little Rock, Arkansas Jermain Taylor vs. TBA (middleweight) SHOWTIME December 31 TBA Rico Ramos vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux (WBA junior featherweight championship) December 31 Bunka Gym, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan Takashi Uchiyama vs. Jorge Solis (WBA junior lightweight championship) Celestino Caballero vs. Satoshi Hosono (WBA featherweight championship)
The Taylor/Dirrell fights are on Prem sports. The Japanese care would be great but realistically no British channel will touch it. Lets just hope they pick up the Showtime and HBO cards in late Jan/Feb
I said this in late November and got slated by some...who seemed to forget who they were dealing with. I really wanted the channel to work but sadly with him at the top and Bunce taking up more air time than fights...well lets say it doesn't look good. I've already said I think it'll be gone by Feb and the more I read the stronger I feel it going down the crapper quickly.
