Your not going to hear people saying this, that and other about you when your dead, if I was an ATG, while I was alive, I would rather have a nice mansion and a fleet of cars, then someone saying down pub I am the best.

Agreed. I've been very critical of Teddy Atlas lately, but this is something he's been banging on about for a while and he's spot on. There is no reason why fighters with such international experience, facing all sorts of different styles in the Ams should be knocking over ham n egg opponents in 4 rounders for so long, it does them no good IMO. Start them with 6 rounders like you said, it kinda brings an authomatic step up in comp as well.

well in this day and age, if you do well enough to become an ATG, then the rest should follow quite naturally so you'll have both. a great quality of life and respect from all. there are plenty of more important things in life than money

My point was though IMO, if I had to choose between the two, I would rather have a 10s of millions in bank than a good legacy, might sound shallow but its my opinion lol.

Plenty of old time champs have great legacies but spent the last 20-30 years of their lives broke and alone. Still happens these days.

Minor belts should be binned, they are killing boxing.

Has anyone seen Woodya's video of Kelly Brook and the newsreader loving up his intercontinental piece of ****.

    :deal

They are one of my pet hates in Boxing, I'm huge Boxing fan and even I do not know what the **** they are meant to be other then a legal way to pay the sanctioning bodies to rank a fighter highly for no reason (hence Bienias being something like #5 despite being utter cack and never doing anything of any note).
Why can't they just do an 8 rounder with a decent step up opponent rather then this bs.

To be fair to her in the video, she did say she preferred the Londsdale belt, she said it looked far more tasteful.

hopefully with him going 10 rounds vs a better opponent means HBO or Showtime will be keen to showcase him. One of them picks this card up and HBO did do the likes of Khan and Mares quite early on.

Some brillient youngsters coming through, which is good to see. I like the look of this kid Cayo, only seen him a few times, the last time Cayo beat a decent blue collar fighter in Diaz. I know Diaz is nothing special at this stage; but all in all, it was very good outing from a young upstart to school a vet the way Cayo did. You can tell that Cayo has watched like 1,000 hours of footage on Sweet Pea (although he reminds me alot of Roy Jones without the freak athleticism but more fundamentals) I love when a young fighter shows signs of studying the great ones and brings it to the ring especially when they're just "coasting" after round 6 and trying to work on different things.

Speaking of prospects, any news on Kirkland?

I can't tell you how long I've waited for the second coming of G Man. In my heart I was hoping that Kirkland would've been the southpaw version of pure, unadulterated violence layed down by Gerald. But I just don't see angles, boxing IQ, punch variance, punch variety and about 10 other intangibles that has me believing Kirkland will be anything more than a left H Lacy.

There's no doubt Wolfe has Kirkland transformed into a machine but this aint UFC or WWE. His skills need some serious work and there's not enough time to post all his "unsweet" habits. I heard where Wolfe drives a truck backwards for 3 miles with a bag attached to the tailgate, and guy has to jog 2 miles backwards and punch that bag nonstop, for two f***ing miles! Hardcore no doubt.

Enough with this james Kirkland talk though, maybe when he comes out a few more 'opponents' will hit the canvas like a jackson pollock lol but with his limitations there then comes a time when his bombs will have a second class postage stamp on them.

Yeah the bag thing is true.

He's a beast but as you say he doesn't have the IQ. I think he's a bit simple and has noticed he wins by knockout so thinks that's problem solved. His training seems purely conditioning and explosive based.

Boxer's need to evolve not only physically but mentally and there skills cannot be left to rot. He's one hell of a fighter with the ability he's already got with skills he could of been or still could be something close to a poor man's G-Man.

Ann's turned to doing exhibition bouts while he's inside so she can keep up payments on the gym.

around 5.50 mark you see him on bag with truck moving forward.
