I enjoy watching Gavin more so than Degale. Chunky Funky lets himself down pretending he is Naz when trying to trash talk but he lacks the nouse to put a few words together.

Both have world class ability pure and simple.

DeGale may not come across likeable but he's hardly a nasty piece of work (thug type) just lacks something between his ears...although he's got natural boxing ability. Boxing ain't a personality contest. I think both will go far IMO.

Theopane's **** scared of Gavin why? cos he knows Frankie got the Skills to take his title.

Degale is just tedious. He's yet to really impress me. Gavin looks the business. Plus he seems like a good guy.

Gavin would be unreal with ko/one shot ko power.

If he doesn't develop that then it'll be a shame.

Amazing boxer though and will go all the way.

De Gale is more overrated, a lot more imo. Also, people seem to like Frankie cause he's a down to earth guy, De Gale is intolerable in way he puts himself across.

One of the reasons Lomax got the crap beat out of him against Gavin, is because Gavin was able to get close to him, which was made possible by his better understanding, his manipulation of mid range, fighting in the pocket, he made Lomax miss, made him pay almost every-time he leaded off, that is hard skill to execute, simply cause when you step into mid range(the pocket), you can be hit.

De Gale is a show pony imo. De Gale looks the part, but when you assess his defense, his ability to dictate and control range, his ability to make you pay consistently when you miss, he's no where near all his cracked up imo.

What De Gale has in his locked is a nice drop back counter left hand, and a nice counter uppercut, but lets see what happens when he fights someone who moves laterally on him, but has good enough ring generalship to offset him and not get trapped the way Smith was. Lets see what happens when the guy who's offsetting him, has the speed to get off first on him whilst he's (De Gale)waiting, trying to time his attacks as he comes in. Lets see what happens when he has to swap his defensive jab that he primarily uses to walk you into his counters, for an offensive jab to put you on your heels whilst cutting the ring down cause his opponent is moving too much and offsetting him, and he's feinting De Gale out before getting off, which is offsetting his timing for his counters, then getting off first on him with his speed.

The thing that bothers me with DeGale is the way he carries his hands. He's very rarely I'n a position to counterpunch effectively due to the fact that when he sees an opening he wastes that split second maneuvering his hands to an angle from which he throws them. Really hard to explain but you should watch it if you can

You talking about the way he cups them around his head when he's inside?

A little but moreso the way he holds them out. He keeps them low but slightly out and when an opening arises he has to pull them back slightly I'n order to throw them back out. Strange and to be honest it seems it's done out of mock arrogance than anything else but he'll come a cropper for it if it isn't rectified as the calibre of opponent is increased

Degale is a really special talent.

You watch him go, around about late 2012. He'll be top 3-4 imho.

I love the way that he thrives off pressure.... this kid was BORN for the big occasion. And doing what he did to Smith in his backyard (major beatdown) was a 10/10 performance in my book. No big event will get to him, it'll only make him perform better. That couped with his skillset = a dangerous combination.

A professional in every sense of the word.

I dont think Gavin is overrated by any poster, but Degale gets his ass kissed on here. Or at least he did right after the Smith fight.
