Dirrell 2 would probably outslick & outpower him, where as Bika would take him down to the trenches all for a very long night maybe winning a decision by a very slight margin. Tommy OoO gives him ****in fits.

How do you mean he was fighting at a handicap? If you mean he went behind early it was because he was being outboxed. Even when he pushed in the latter half of the fight he lost a couple because Groves put in a better shift (I had it 2 rounds to Groves at the end).

And you feel sorry for him? The same guy who said "The bewtures fright, the bewtures chunky"?

I agree with alot of this. He can go far if the right stuff falls into place. I think he'd benefit by moving to the States and trraining there like Amir has done, but with slicker trainer. Although, he is very close to his trainer Jim McDonnell, so I doubt it'll happen.

Thee Groves fight was a toss up could've gone either wat IMO.

Dirrell 2 is completely unproven (St Juste isn't great and was still the only one I had ever heard of), true DeGale hasn't proved much but Dirrell 2 even less.

No I mean look at how bad the general public expected DeGale to beat Groves, all close rounds straightaway went to Groves because DeGale didn't dominate as bad as was expected, I watched it with five friends, two of which watch boxing on a regular basis, and the other three what don't really care about it just presumed that DeGale would dominate because everyone thought he would and he won a gold medal. Care to guess who had who winning?

Don't get me wrong I'm not a DeGale fan in particular, but he boxed badly and still won.

Just going on gut feeling based on the few fights I've seen of each guy. Early career resumes don't mean much.

Of course they don't, it's most likely the level of exposure to each fighter based on location

I think he might be able to compete at the world level, or at least the lower-echelon of the world level guys. . . He can pick a belt off Stieglitz, Groves, or Abraham. . . Maybe catch a faded Froch at the end of his career. . .

But don't see him ever being a true world class champion.

Remeber guys, he's only had a handful of fights, he's a baby and he does have that pedigree of the Olympics. I think if things fall into place for him development wise he could surprise and I'm a Groves fan saying that. Time will tell.

Great points. But, if the development end of things is attended to, I would expect a great body of work from James when all is said and done and the suprise, for me, would be one that is not.

And, over the course of the future, we could get two more Groves/Degale battles with some luck. If so, will have a 2-1 or even a 1-1-1 stack-up.

Potential world champ however may have to wait a while. The super middleweight division is very strong and unless he is dedicated to the sport he don't have a chance in hell at beating the likes of ward, Bute, froch etc

    He's more mouth/hype than ability/talent imo.
When you set your bar too high at the beginning, any failiure/setback can be very telling.
He's Euro level and may get a shot at one of the alphabet titles, but i think he'll fall short.

I still believe in him and thought he beat Groves by 2 points, he needs to seriously up his **** talking game though, cringeworthy stuff.
