Degale is the truth, I see why Froch is running scared.

I'm not a brit and can care less about about most Brit fighters, but I watched a couple Degale fights including the Groves robbery.

This guy has the skill set, and understands how to use his range, get his punches off, and avoided big punches.

I'm a big Ward fan, but I really feel he has a chance to give ward a lot of problems. I believe he just needs that Froch shot to propel him to the next level.

Degale vs Ward or Dirrell would be great boxing for those who like technicians and don't cry about watching skills being displayed

I respect Froch as a warrior, but I can understand why he wouldn't want his last fight to be against Degale. Years ago Froch would of took the fight, but at the tale end of his career I can understand why he's shying away from it.

What I don't understand is why everyone is pretending this isn't a blatant duck to avoid his mandatory.

Because he's not due to fight a mandatory yet. He can fight a voluntary and make a ton more money doing so (at the tale end of his career).

This fight isn't even wanted by many in the UK, nor the promoter of both men wants it that much right now so why not give his fans what they actually want like giving them the chance to travel to Vegas and support him as he takes on Chavez Jr, or finish up his epic trilogy with Kessler in a huge UK stadium.

I think this may be news to you but boxing is a business.

Why don't you make another thread asking why Bernard Hopkins avoided his mandatory Nadjib Mohammadi to fight Sergey Kovelev.

I agree that DGale has potential and I think he would be a live underdog against Froch. I wouldn't be surprised if he beat Froch. I would be very surprised if he could beat Ward but I wouldn't be surprised if he gave Ward his toughest fight to date. He has some good strengths and an awkward style.

    Because:

-Froch isn't known for ducking, he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
-He hasn't actually announced his next fight yet. He might fight DeGale.
-It's not a duck of you fight someone as good or better (E.g. GGG).
-It's not a duck if you retire.
-If he ducks him to fight someone for much more money (E.g. Chavez JR) people are more understanding because most people also love money so can see why he would do that especially now that he is at the end of his career and has nothing left to prove.

to be fair, joe would have been looking at losses if he had when in his late 30s.

and without his zero his stock value falls dramatically since his claim to fame is largely based on being unbeaten.

SO he did the right thing careerwise to run due to fear.

So Froch perhaps could learn something from Calzaghe and do that.....however froch is no cowardzaghe, so I don't think he will. He wants to fight on world level all the time, not domestic.

Carl Froch has fought top comp for a very long time and has never ducked anybody and he is one of the few fighters you can say that about so your topic is ridiculous. Froch would of fought Degale but he LOST. So Froch fought and beat Groves who was his mandatory twice because of the bad taste of the first fight. If Degale wants to prove his worth he would fight Groves again and win convincingly otherwise he is a level below Froch. Froch does deserve a voluntary defense to make some money before he retires and if he wants another big money fight he probably will fight his mando because he likes his titles and their a huge bargaining chip. I could see Froch fighting Chavez and Degale before he retires but GGG I am not to sure as GGG has stated he is not going to 168 yet. I hope GGG goes to 168 before Froch retires it would be an EPIC fight which Froch wouldn't DUCK!

That's how we know he's not a Brit. "I could care less" is unique to Americans. They never figured it out.

Nobody cares about Degale, I think Froch has earned the right to make a little money from this business, and he won't do that against Degale.
