Personally i had it to Jack by 3 rounds but not crying robbery. I think DeGale, regardless of the ring bravado, must of come away from this happier than Jack. The 1st round knock down was lucky, a good legitimate scoring knock down but it didnt even buzz jack, just caught him off balance. Didnt see Jack in danger of falling over again in the fight. DeGales game plan was just all wrong he should of fought at a nice rangy distance but as much as Jack was forcing the distance DeGale seemed like he was happy to fight close up, didnt really attempt to create a gap to suit his abilities and just was just losing round after round with it, Jack did all the good work close up and when DeGale did find the space to throw combo,s anything with meat on it was blocked and the other shots didnt bother Jack which is why he was able to stay right on Degales toes. Or so i thought anyway, seems alot see it different. he was also lucky to not lose points for the gumshield too which would of swung the decision.
Their reactions to the decision told the whole story, DeGale was relieved with a draw, Jack was pissed. Clear, clear victory for Jack, DeGale took a beating.
Oh the irony hahahga Ward looked like he lsot after the fight and so did hunter, he looked in compete shock when he got the decision Now look at the nonsense you are talking You were part of the ' it could have gone either way 'spastic army
Can't blame DeGale, Jack is a Mayweather fighter in the US. It was a very entertaining fight and both deserve a lot of credit for different reasons.
To give degale even a draw you would have to give degale rounds for hitting gloves and shoeshining.i wanted degale to win to set up degale smith in england but, jack landed by far the better blows,i had jack ahead going into the last by 2 i think but with knock down it was definately jacks win. Smith beats them both in my opinion
I have no dog in the race, just tuned in to see a good fight. After the early flash kd Jack really took it it to DeGale. I was impressed with the bodywork and inside fighting ability of Jack, he was outmuscling and bullying DeGale in close and at points it looked like he was going to get the stoppage. A majority of the clean shots were landed by Jack with most of DeGale's punches being deflected off the gloves and arms. That 12th round knockdown should have sealed the deal.
113-113 draw. But I would have agreed with a Jack win by 1-2 points aswell. The rounds that Jack won, were won big like the 6th, 8th and 12th. The rounds that DG won were close, only edged. He did not even clearly dominate the first, as the knock down only just edged it to 10-8. I feel sorry for Jack because he was the better figher and dished out a bit of a beating and deserved the W.
