He isn't wrong he has let everyone down with that performance. But he has let himself down the most. He is way better than that.

Heard he smokes a lot of weed. He should switch to eating it, then it won't effect his stamina and he can get his a$$ off the ropes

Time out for Degale means going to Ibiza/Marbella with his idiotic mates.

He's shot to bits and he needs to hang up his gloves for good. Truax seems like good guy and I genuinely feel pleased for him, but that was just a shadow of the real DeGale in there last night.

He looked stoned in that fight.

Seriously though he needs to consider his career. Not much point carrying on if he's gonna be at that level.

People thought the SMW tourney was weak compared with the CW one, but with DeGale being rubbish and Ramirez not fighting anyone good, all of a sudden the SMW tourney looks poised to crown a new king.

    Great stuff for boxing this.

Sadly I think Degale is past best and that tough fights have caught up on him.
I think Degale has been good. He travelled to the USA to beat Dirrell, travelled to Canada to beat Bute, travelled back to the USA to beat Medina, travelled back to the USA to face Jack in a unification in a draw. I think travelling like that several fights in a row can cause a sort of fatigue.

Degale with so much talent but he seems to get dragged into the trenches and I have a bit of a theory with why.
Degale doesnt seem to try and push his opponents back and with his style gets made to move alot, so I think he is often working twice as hard as his opponents and then needs to rest on the ropes for a bit when he is tired after having to move so much.
His opponents can stay more in centre ring making Degale do full circles around them.

I think there will be a familiar situation to what fans have seen before where when a talented champ gets dethroned suddenly other names are looking to face the new champ when they didnt seem as interested in the previous champ. I expect suddenly many opponents who havent been overly chasing Degale will suddenly be looking for a shot at Truax

Best wishes to him, I like his style and enjoy watching him at his best, hope he does turn things around and manages to find success. But when a boxer's in wars on the other side of 30 he rarely rebuilds and comes back to his earlier form. He really is worn physically.

Well said. DeGale is a very talented fighter, a certified road warrior, and I've always liked his style since the amateurs. But he looked a pale shadow of his former self last night and I think he should call it a day. He's had a great career, am and pro.

    Good post.

May I also add that there are credible reports that he doesn't look after himself out of the ring. Perhaps his lifestyle choices have finally caught up with him.
