Not my cup of tea, both style and personality wise.

Proper road warrior though and cannot discredit his achievements. Like groves, I hope he enjoys retirement.

He’s a proper narcissist, genuinely. He must be a nightmare to hang around, always making it about him.

Loved Froch as a fighter but by god he goes on with himself doesn't he? I think he probably would have beaten DeGale but when the blokes calling it quits after a really good career would it have been too much to just congratulate him and leave it at that? Groves has done that on twitter - little bit of class

Totally agree. He’s shown himself up once again with Degale’s retirement as he did with Groves. Great fighter but he’s undoing all that now.

Froch is a complete moron. A narcissist is a good description. Can't seem to respect anyone without worrying about himself. When a fighter retires, you at least give them a day, more rationally a few months/years before you start that rubbish talk, if ever. He just can't help himself, he's a complete parody.

Good luck to DeGale, and hope he is financially (and mentally) secure enough to stick with the retirement.

His career missed a defining win, but his achievements are certainly not to be sniffed at, and he played his part in an entertaining era for British supermiddles.

For a guy with absolutely nothing to prove Froch acts like a guy who gets absolutely no respect.

He really didn't need to have the pop at DeGale there. If someone like Alan Shearer sent a tweet to Harry Kane if he had to retire early saying something like 'great player, but did he score as many goals as me? Absolutely not,' it goes without saying that they'd be rightly ridiculed.

Froch always comes across as mentally fragile - probably comes from the fact that everyone knows Calzaghe would have slapped him silly had they ever met!

DeGale had a bizarre career. Spent way too long putting in horrid shifts in leisure centres. Probably spent too long with Mick Hennesy by the same token. The way he switched off against lower tier opposition and turned nearly every fight into a slugfest, I never thought he would make it to world champ.

Still, good win against Dirrell and a decent win against Bute. Were he more consistent he could have been very, very good but there we go. Solid career overall and I always have massive respect for him and Groves. They put it on the line early in their careers and both ended up a success.

In fairness Joe had a dreadful career by comparison. Yes he was unbeaten but how many wasted years can a professional boxer have?

Froch probably thinks he is being funny, what he doesn’t seem to realise is that he is about as funny as a burning orphage.

Decent career but defo in the tier under Calzage and Froch, also rates under the Benn, Eubank Sr, Collins era.
