Bad fight for Degale. Too lazy and controlling range like BJJ and GG isn't his style, which gives Eubank trouble. He can't stick to a game plan and will end up trying to fight him in the pocket. Can see Eubank stopping him late. I actually think Groves-Degale fight is the best bet for both parties. Degale has more of a chance in the one and it will do decent numbers. Its got Sky PPV grudge match written all over it, if they can sort the promotional side of things.
Super middleweight I'm assuming since Eubank's last 5 fights and Degale's whole career has been at Super middleweight.
Should be an easy win for Chris Eubank Jr on points. De Gale is absolutely shot and only works for 45 seconds a round at most. He won’t be able to stay away even from Eubank Jr who is a crude attacker and isn’t effective against a world class boxer who moves. De Gale doesn’t move anymore other than in straight lines backwards. Truax is as crude as they come and he was mowing De Gale down. Eubank Jr has a better engine than Truax.
Somewhat insulting if they are presenting this as PPV, and clearly shows drastic flaws in their business model, as this will flop. It's a fight I'm excited for but no way justifiable as PPV, and fights like Groves Smith and Groves Jr and the cruiserweight super 6 failed to receive any noteworthy exposure. What I find puzzling is an ITV 2, ITV3 and ITV4 exist... they would be a perfect Freeview platform covered by advertising to show fights such as the proposed Degale Jr to the wider public and more casual sport and boxing fans.
Winner to rematch Groves in what I expect to be his swansong fight? Seconded on the opinion Jr is too active and Degale too pedestrian.
It seems like that DeGale is somewhere over the rainbow now..... CEJ brings exactly the same style that has done for DeGale against Jack and Truax except with maybe a better work rate. Thing is though, Eubank tends to let people have the first few rounds off as a sort of favour. Good fight and one needed to help sort the UK SMW scene out. Winner to fight Smith in 2019 for the peoples crown.
He's just not what he used to be. The wars he's been in, shoulder surgery and old father time have taken their toll on his body.
