If what Eubank jr was hinting on IFL is true and he is now going to be working with a proper trainer (Mayweather), then I think he'll absolutely destroy Degale.
I think this is the reality of it. Truax beat him clean first time and the second fight was still pretty close. Truax seems a real good guy and I like him but he isn't a world level fighter. And Degale won't have gotten better since those fights either.
I would love for Degale to roll back the years and put in one of those quality performances, he was an excellent 168 and would have comfortably dealt with Junior in his prime. Unfortunately, his jab has no authority in it anymore, the shoulder’s done...Junior is going to smash him up.
I think Jim McDonnell would throw the towel in. Not sure if Eubank quite has the power to take him out, but i can see Eubank teeing off with uppercut after uppercut and corner stopping it
I agree, he would get to show off his Instagram 10,000 punches in 5 seconds skills on a stricken Degale on the ropes.
Anyone else think Mayweather isn't a good fit for young Christopher? It's a strange one this but a guy who's lost both times against world level opposition probably goes in favorite against De Gale. James injuries and miles on the clock are not going to help him here and if Junior can finally learn to set up his work a bit he could give De gale a bit of a hiding - sitting on the ropes isn't going to help James if he can't find something to back Eubank off. Could see a British ref stoppage late in the fight
First I've heard of Mayweather/Eubank. I personally think it's a good fit. You need a wacky personality to work with the Eubanks and Mayweather Sr certainly has that. He'll get Eubank using the jab a bit, which he currently neglects completely. It may be too late for Jr to make significant adjustments to his game but I don't think so. This could be just in the nick of time. I'm intrigued. DeGale is very beatable these days and Jr's workrate should prove too much for him.
Yea, I read that. I think Hatton and Mayweather were a horrible mix of personalities and a clash was inevitable. Did Floyd Sr every really personally care about Ricky, who'd had serious beef with Floyd Jr? Mayweather and Eubank appear a lot more compatible IMO. They've already done bits and pieces together.
I agree he would have dealt with Jr in his prime , but when did he ever exhibit a quality performance against another top fighter? He was a good fighter at one point, but one that never fulfilled his potential. I don't recall a great performance of his career. As for Mayweather training Eubank, it'd add to the freakshow, but I'd like to see it.
It's boxing. Do you really want your son to be beaten up by another man, or do you want to hype the fight and make £
