I see James has added Paulie to his team which is an interesting and imo positive move. Unlike nice but dim Jimmy Mac, Paulie will at least have the ability to read the fight and give clear lnstructions in the corner. I’m predicting another tough fight, but with Degale squeezing through on points

Traux is still, in my opinion, a heavy underdog in this fight at 7/2...DeGale is at 1/5 on bloody crazy prices.

No way would i be comfortable betting on DeGale after his last performance.

Sticking £80 on Traux to win. If it doesn't come through im never betting on boxing again, we only in April and ive already lost far too much money!

At least degale is showing hes prepared to admit faults and make changes by employing paulie.
This fight depends on what james has left and also whether the desire still burns. Im not writing him off yet.

For sure, im not writing DeGale off either yet. He has shown he can go to WAR.

But like you said, how much does he have left in the tank. I want DeGale to win, but my wallet wants Traux and at them odds you would be crazy to not have a small wager.

If you was a betting man would you put money on DeGale winning at 1/5?

The question is more - has the shoulder surgery effectively finished DeGale at World Level?

Certainly not to be trusted against any live opponent now and only a Sky PPV Boxing purchaser would back him at those odds

Nailed it. Some people are understandably pointing to Degale possibly being over the hill or lacking desire...he took an absolute pasting in that last fight and didn’t give in. He’s clearly got tons of heart. It’s his shoulder that is the problem.

Apparently, it’s a shoulder reconstruction he’s had. We have seen what happens to fighters who have this done. Haye can’t throw a straight right anymore for example. It’s Degale’s right shoulder that’s been operated on, that’s his lead...if you can’t jab you can’t defend or attack. You end up in wars, covering up on the ropes even against mediocre fighters because they can now walk right through you. You dictate the fight with the jab. If you can’t throw an authoritative one anymore then you’re a sitting duck.

If it's not too late, don't put Truax on at 7/2. He's 9/2 on SkyBet just now. I stuck £20 on that today in case the price shortens during the week.

I know Degale is loyal to Jim Mac and is like a brother to Jimmy Mac Jr, but he should have ended that relationship after the Truax defeat and found a new trainer.

Can see it being a cluster**** in his corner on fight night with opinions flying in from both Paulie and Jim, plus it’s hardly a good business decision giving up another chunk of his purse to Paulie now. Should have just linked with him exclusively.

Not a confident one. DeGale got absolutely pasted at times there. He WAS a much better fighter than that but the question is can he get back to that? Elbow issues can be very difficult to recover from. I might tentatively go for DeGale on points. It was pretty competitive by the final bell last time and I think DeGale can muster one big performance for this.

I'm going for a similar result to last time - his shoulder if its as bad as it appeared wont have had much more time to recover. truax ud

Will be very sad if this ends up the case. Regarded as one of the best super-middles in the world, to retirement in the space of 5 months because he can’t beat a 160 knockover job.

You summed it up earlier yourself...it all comes down to dégales jab...or lack thereof.

If he can't jab anymore then he is finished. Do we have any reports from "gym spies" as to whether he can or cant jab? This is the crux of it.
