I would really like to see this fight happen as Degale's first or second defence of the euro.

Unfortunately after his last fight I just can't see that he who must not be named would put him in with Kenny.

Just as Smith is an important fight for Groves I think Anderson is an important fight for Degale.

Think Kenny could cause Degale some big big problems and if he fights the same way he did against the pole I could see Kenny stopping him.

However I expect Degale to make some changes and he is capable of outboxing Anderson clearly!!!

    What do you think?

A fully prepared Anderson would have KO'd DeGale on Saturday night. I don't know how much DeGale will have learned from the fight but if he hasn't improved from it then he's ****ed if he fights Kenny.

Degale will have to box a lot smarter then he did the other night that's for sure, If he tries slugging with Anderson he will get knocked out, If he box's sensibly he can out point him. Im leaning towards Anderson at this moment in time.

Kenny is a far better boxer then people realise! People always say he'll get outboxed by such and such! I've never seen him outboxed by anyone

I think most people realise he is a decent boxer due to his amateur acheivements, I just think most think that Degale would have the upperhand in that department. Though most people ignored the fact that Groves is a tidy boxer as well.

I lean towards anderson at the moment. In a way he reminds me of Bellew. Can be crude at times but at others is a very tidy boxer!!!

I knew he was a very good amateur, Ive always thought of him as come forward slugger type? I will have a look at a few of his fights later and second opinion.

Degale would smash Kenny Kenny would not beable to keep coming forward with James as he uses angles an variety of shots which would get to Kenny I remember him boxing Kenny egan not the best with southpaws either this would be one-sided IMO

James didn't use many angles the other night!

I agree if he performed to how most think he can he would get the win but if he performs like he did the other night he's in trouble.

I dont see Anderson beating him TBH. While the scot is a pretty good boxer, Degale is just better. Anderson gets disheartened too quickly for my likely, and has shown he can be hurt. Degale prefers it when his opponents come at him (hence why Groves gave him problems and Paul Smith didnt). He'll probably have to come through some tough patches, but I see him winning a semi-comfortable decision

You obviously know far more about what you're looking at than I do, but I have not seen DeGale using angles in his last two fights - he has looked far more workmanlike in both than his earlier reputation would suggest. He has a reputation as a skilled slickster who can mix up the action, but that has not been the case since he stepped up the opposition. For the British title, Smith was just overmatched, possibly even wrong weight class, so DeGale won comfortably without having to use anything clever, so I was not sure. But then he was workmanlike and plodding (by his standards) and dropped the decision against Groves, when using the skills he was so famed for might have brought a different result, then again on Saturday night he did not look like a hyper-skilled slickster throwing dazzling combinations - he ground it out again, this time to a win, a good win, but again it was workmanlike rather than skilled. So while a few months ago I would have agreed that he would be too skilled for Kenny Anderson and it would be all about DeGale, it has been a while since we have seen the form from him that would suggest that that would still be the case. On recent form, it seems more likely that DeGale would just trade and graft, rather than using the angles that much, which would make it a much more even fight. I still think that DeGale would win, but am not as convinced as I was and can see the case for Anderson just bringing too much. DeGale does not look as good now as we expected him to after his first few pro fights.

Good fight whatever the outcome. If degale performs like he did on saturday then he'd have problems with Kenny. Love to see the fight though.

DeGale has always been a plodder. He makes up for his bad footwork by being athletic. We saw how Groves gave him major issues by simply stepping off after throwing a jab. That is not a future world champion!

Oh look, its one of those "Boxer didn't look too good on Saturday, LOL THIS GUY WOULD SMASH HIM" threads.

    Degale, points if not TKO.
