This. Short-sighted in the extreme and flies in the face of the whole "invested in the long term of the sport" lines that get trotted out by promoters and managers.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing this fight if it gets made. Degale maybe done as a top level operator, but I feel like he may just have enough for Eubank.

Shouldn't be anywhere near PPV but that#s obvious.

I've interest in the fight still. Jr is flawed enough for even this shopworn Degale to give him some problems. Jr should get the win though.

Degale's shotness could be a bit overrated. Groves was also shot and terribly drained and only time he had trouble with CEJ was when he lost his arm.

    Degale by clowning UD.

I'd have been much more interested in this had CEJ beaten Groves, or put up a better showing. I say this as someone who had been on the CEJ bandwagon. No doubt I'll watch it and the build up will be decent, but CEJ has frustrated me in the last couple of years. Within hours of the loss to Groves he was on insta trying to flog #nextgen clothing and jabbering on about what a great fight it was. I would just love to see have seen him with 20% more humility and I think he would have gone 50% further. It's a career that really excited me and it's turned into a bit of a squib. That could all change if he blows DeGale away though.

As fighters move towards the end of their career I tend to start liking them a little more (assuming I hadn't liked them) and DeGale is someone I'd like to see go out on a high too. I also think rumours of his shot-ness are a bit premature. I think it'll be very close and CEJ on points by swarming. DeGale has a good engine, but a style that involves taking time off and he won't be able to go missing like Saunders or fight fire with fire like Groves.

This all depends on the shoulder for me, is it busted at the top level or can/has he rehabilitated it back to its best? If that’s the best it’s going to get (judging off the 2nd fight with Truax) then he’s going to get smashed up for 12 rounds. If he can’t throw a hurtful jab then Junior will dominate the fight with effective aggression and ring generalship.

If the shoulder’s ok then this is a very winnable fight for Degale. He can move, throw the jab, throw his eye catching shots then tie Junior up as he’s the bigger, stronger man.

A few years ago Degale deals with Eubank no problem...but now I feel his shoulder may have declined so much that Eubank will stylistically shine in this fight for a UD.

I'm a Eubank Jr fan but in no way will I be paying for this! DeGale is past it now and no belt on the line either.

Does a win make either one of them any more relevant tho? And does it like up any other relevant fight i don't think so,the only fight that would help cje move forward for me is the bjs rematch, groves looked like he is done now so that one wouldn't happen imo?

If he boxed BJS he would end up irrelevant, mate. He should stay well away from any fighter with quality footwork, speed, timing and world class jab.

We were talking about this when the likes of Eubank Quinlon fight was PPV. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. We live in a society of absolute sheep and they will buy into what the promoters and the hype on the street say. Trust me.
