DeGale has given up his IBF title to fight Eubank and says he wants to cement his legacy, how the hell does a fight against Eubank cement his legacy?
Yes, but I read in my newspaper today that Eubank is next instead, they are saying it will be a big money fight.
Yes but that fight doesn`t mean anything because Eubank was exposed by Groves, at least fighting DeGale he`ll make more money, that might suit his strange ego.
DeGale is finished. It's too bad, since he had a ton of talent, but his laziness and lack of dedication caught up with him.
Eubank JR is a younger, probably more naturally talented, Degale. I don't rate either.... But it'd be interesting because Degale has the more experience, but Eubank has proved he has heart which might be enough at this stage to beat Degale. And yes I do believe JR is more talented..... If it's true that he's always trained himself, that's proof he's got huge talent to get this far. (Albeit it also means he's had a lot of talent wasted by not have a decent trainer).
Skill set Degale imo is ahead of Jnr, but like you said I think Jnr is a great talent considering the approach to the sport, no trainer is laughable and so unpro, but I agree with you he has something special in him, dedication and fitness like no other. He stops Degale imo, and maybe does a lot better with prime Degale than first thought. Them lazy periods that have blighted every fight hes had JD would be suicide against Jnr
Here we go again with people who think CEJ is a good boxer. The Groves fight should have answered that. Yeah CEJ is athletic and has more than a decent chin but against an Olympic medallist he shouldn't stand a chance. His style of standing on the outside and leaping in throwing 5 and 6 punch combos is telegraphed. He still moves straight back with his hands low when he stops punching. Even a half arsed Degale should win comfortably. I can't see him lose a round.
DeGale can be exactly as or more eroded and unspectacular as I think he is and I'll still pick him to beat Eubank Jr.
If DeGale wasn't shot to pieces coming from a shoulder operation and was the fighter who showed a lot of promise from his knockout of Periban then i'd pick him. I think Eubank Jr outworks him in a messy fight at this point.
