Because Burns is an entertaining fighter to watch, I enjoy following the story.
He comes across as a really genuine bloke who took his chance and is living the "Rocky" dream. He's the WBO champ and Ring Magazine number two. The rest are basically domestic \ international level at the moment. To match Burns they would have to beat someone highly in the 168'lbs and 175'lbs divisions before people really start to take notice. I hope all four go on to do great things.

 

Fair enough, but the fight itself was a complete mismatch. I had zero interest in it.

 

I'd like to see Burns take another easy defence and then Fana in a unification for the IBF, WBO and Ring titles. If anyone too tasty comes along, there are fighters out there like that, then he can ditch the IBF and WBO and defend the Ring title. Someone will have Burn's number, but make it later rather than sooner.

Personally, I would rather he defended against all comers and proved why he's No.1 (should he get into such a position) than ditch his titles and defend against Laryea and co.

 

But were they better than any of Calzaghe's early defences?

Joe's opposition was **** poor for years, it isn't a great benchmark.

 

My mother would have fancied her chances against Laryea, the whole episode was a disgrace.

Clev fight is interesting , obviously Degale-Groves is the talking point of this bill, I'm sure Warren's "regulars" like Frankie Gavin, Kell Brook, Derek Chisora will be making an appearence perhaps?
