DeGale vs Groves update...sort off

always said this wouldnt happen

too big a risk for either promoter, especially warren what with JDGs fantastic pro career start

will probably just look to get both fighters a tad more established before sticking them in for a career deciding showdown

Then what happens? Is booths deadline for the fight the same or will he then be ok to put it on in may?

 

It was just a ploy by Hayemaker to get out of the fight.

The last thing Groves needs is a DeGale fight right now. I like the kid but until he looks himself in the mirror and stops trying to be a knob like his boss, then sorts out his glaring defensive weaknesses he's going to find himself at domestic level for keeps.

DeGale will want to knock Groves over before someone else does, most probably.

 

OK so lets say the fight goes to Booth , then what ???

Why is it off , will the board not maintain there stance and give Booth another deadline ??? ..............

 

The Board are bending over backwards calling whoever Frankie Gavin fights this weekend as a 'welterweight eliminator' for TV purposes when that's clearly shite - for the good of the sport they should extend the deadline a bit.

But they won't. Wonder why?

 

As soon as Frank said that this fight happens by the end of April or not at all it was clearly not gonna happen.

 

The Lomax thing is entirely different I reckon, even though there is no way it should be sanctioned as an eliminator.

The criteria was laid out for the purse bids early, and everybody knew what they were bidding for.

The rights to promote the fight before the end of April.

Hayemaker have bidded for it, won, and now can't do it - that is a joke.

 

I've been told they can do it...so we'll see.

 

I would be surprised to be honest.

Look at it from a business standpoint for a second, taking Rob's May 21st as an example.

If the BBBoC give them an extra three weeks to get it on, all that one of the unsuccessful bidders would have to say is ''I would have bid more if I'd known we had til May 21st''

It makes a mockery of the bidding process.
