He may be but he needs a name on his resume that means something to a wider audience. this would be a good fight to boost his popularity and worth if he won

I think its a potentially great fight. Would certainly do Degale good to beat (an albeit badly faded) Kessler. Not that it's an easy fight for him. Kessler is dangerous to the last bell. Seeing as his power will be the last thing to go, you can never truly count the guy out.

    I think it's a good match up.

I agree. Kessler will be the step up for Degale, and if he can overcome, he can look to the elite of the sport

You have to wonder how much Kessler has left.

Hes been out of the ring for a long time and has taken quite a bit of punishment.

Doesn't quite make sense, he wants the IBF which he is mando for... Maybe once he has a belt, itd be a good fight. Not yet though.

Good fight, i like it. Close to call. Kessler could surprise us..... unless he's been Froch'd

I don't get it. Kessler specifically made clear he was only coming back for a huge payday with a shortlist of names.

    Why the change of heart?

Kessler is basically retired at the moment. By the time the fight is made he will have been inactive for 2 years. While Kessler has name value you have to question how much he has left.

Also if DeGale wins he's beaten a washed up Kesssler and on the flip side if Kessler is as good as he was against Froch he could very well beat DeGale and DeGale loses his chance at winning a title. It's a bit of a no win situation.

High risk for both fighters, but would be a good name for either one of them.

IB DeGale actually fought in Denmark before, so he is a little bit known here. But let's be real. Kessler is not beating any elites at 160-168.

I think Kessler is desperate. No top top contenders would risk fighting a Froch leftover, when they know how dangerus Kessler can be.. Theres to much risk and not much to gain.

Kessler wants this for a last chance to get a super fight, and Degale wants the same. Its all or nothing for both.

Good fight and I wouldn't rule out a Kessler win especially if he has a good training camp, the long layoff may have done him some good.
