Never saw the fight but Degale ain't an elite fighter. He can hardly fight 6 and rounds out of 12. Super middle is lacking
DeGale is a punk. He talks so much crap which is fine but he cannot back it up.. He is lucky Traux did not knock him out. He really is. All the talent and skills in the world but really low boxing IQ. I think he needs to go away and really think , ask himself if really wants to and does he have the desire to carry on fighting. There is no excuse for his performance against Traux.
DeGale DeGale already lost to Groves and Jack(the draw was BS). The way he looked on Saturday night even Callum Smith and EUbank Jr would have beat him.
‘Even’ Callum Smith? He’s got to prove it yet, but I think he would stop a prime Degale, not just this career ending shoulder version of Degale.
He's a Smith - it means he'll undoubtedly lose at world level. The only Smith brother who didn't, didn't because he was fighting a guy arguably outside the top 50.
Degale is lucky that the version of him that turned up against Truax didn't turn up in a Groves rematch. It would have been a massacre and possibly ended his career.
Degale's arrogance has always been his main flaw. I admire his loyalty to McDonnell in ways, but he should have changed trainer way earlier in his career when problems weren't being addressed, most notably getting stuck on the ropes.
To produce 4 quality boxing siblings is incredible. Paul isn’t up to much, granted but he’s carved out a decent pro career. Stephen is in a killer division. Liam is a former world champion...could realistically become a two-time world champion before his career finishes. Callum will win a world title, and quite possibly in two weight divisions. I appreciate they’re not exactly popular lads amongst boxing fans...but 4 professional boxers in one family. That’s impressive.
