Couldn't agree more, I though DeGale just about deserved to win on the night but in a rematch I'd favour Groves

Nah, the Czech fellow is quite tough. He now has four "stoppage" losses but has never really been knocked out proper except by Vitali Tsypko back in 2006. Cuts TKO against Sartison, and unlucky hand injuries twice now against Abraham and DeGale. I'm not sure Bozic has even been dropped or seriously hurt since or before Tsypko. :think
He's only Euro level, DeGale ought to have certainly had an easier time with him, but saying he should've dropped or stopped him is overly harsh, is all - considering what a hard ******* he is. Physically resilient and stubborn as hell. Absolute **** luck with those injuries, his mitts are worse than Calzaghe's it would seem. I had him nicking the 1st round (or a share of it, can't remember) against Abraham and starting well in the 2nd before he threw a hard punch into those bony arms of AA, landing awkwardly so it bruised his bones or some such. He also came very close to handing Henry Weber his first pro loss, just a few months before Weber challenged Stieglitz for a world title. A legit stoppage of him, or a shutout (as DeGale seemed possibly headed towards if he didn't suffer a massive shambolic decline or gas or something) would've been a fair ornament on Chunky's resume. This sort of result is obviously always unsatisfactory - but hey, it could be worse. DeGale could've gotten himself disqualified with those abundant low blows.
The guy is just desperate not to have his career slip into a state of nothingness. For the past year we've all been asking what's happening with him and why hasn't he been active. He realises it too, he's 27 and and isn't even close to fulfilling his potential. You can't blame him for trying to get his name out there for the big fights. Almost felt for him in that interview, I cringed when he was more or less begging Hennessy to hype up his career on camera. He just doesn't want his career to slip away before it's too late, hence the odd ramblings.
Saw he interview with kugan where he said he may have to stop the being humble act and start running his mouth again to get more attention and he wasrnt kidding was he.

I thought Degale did pretty damn alright and still think he will go all the way. Just trying to take an objective view here.

I think DeGale needs to set work up a tad more. Timing is key, When you bang to body as he did tonight it's hurtful but that one shot where a guy throws and hyperextends his rib and you land just under and push it up. There the ones even a glancing shot can be painful. I thought he boxed well for a fight at two weeks notice. I think his interview wasn't as bad as some have made out i feel he and Groves are entitled to believe they can beat Froch but as long as there respectful about it and i feel DeGale has kept it at that IMHO. I did laugh at the ''Your a Groves man Richie i can sense it'' . I had the same feeling as Richie spoke.. Bellew made a good point at times James laid on the ropes to open the guy up a little. I thought it was a decent display. Nothing more nothing less..

illustrated his insecurities by being needlessly defensive to woodhall's constructive criticism, and seemed borderline delusional by claiming his knee injury kept him on the ropes, as if it didn't happen tonight. yes, his quick, technical combos would score against froch, but with little effect. then he'd go and have his habitual breather on the ropes, and get clubbed to death like a baby seal. can anyone seriously imagine froch quitting on his stool?
