I must admit i hate the showboating and find he is doing himself no favours for himself with the fans by doing it,

But he is a very good prospect imo, he needs to take time when picking his shots instead of going all guns blazing and missing hooks by a mile, somone with a little more ability would expose that floor bigtime.

Anyone notice the 2 left hooks he took flush after showboating? looks like he could take a crack they didn't seem to bother him at all, time will tell though.

i dont think its fair to judge him too much until Warren steps up the opposition to boxers who actually attack him, its not natural for him to be the aggressor, what he really needs is a jab to help set up his attack so that his control of distance comes more naturaly

It seemed more like a mini dance boogie up to the opponent to me - nothing to do with what he was doing or what he was aiming to do.

As you say, what was all that about.

Some (very, very few) people can pull that kind of thing off, he doesn't...

Frankie Gavin was superb footwork loved watching his fight. Truth be told they are both doing better than Khan at this stage.

My take on degale is simple, hes a **** outside the ring and an even bigger dickhead init. At the moment hes proved he hasnt got the high KO power to carry him onto world level and hasnt the style either but hes winning :/ I rarely hate on fighters, especially british ones but god this guys a dick! it wouldnt be so bad if he had the skills to back it up but he dont.....rly would like to see him exposed soon and end the hype job

He is terrible at both. I mean really terrible.

He needs a new coach cos Jim McD is terrible.

They're both much older too. People forget how young Khan was when he turned pro.

I like what i see of Degale. He needs to learn to get to know himself though, it seems like he's at that stage where he's unsure of his identity as a fighter mainly because of the comments from people and the mentality we have in this country, it seems like he worries about getting labelled with a "boring" tag.

Would like to seem him block out everything, stay calm and fight to his strengths, which for me is being a boxer counter puncher. He needs to improve that jab because its gonna be crucial for his style to have a legit jab, learn to roll with punches more, basically the name of the game for him at this stage should be DEFENCE and everything should come of that, unfortunately though he won't be allowed to fight with that mindset, because of this 'microwave" society in which we live.

If he wasn't getting tagged so much and being so over eager then i would give him the thumbs up for that performance, loved the way he squated low and got his sweet Pea on. lol

    1. Good footwork, seems like he knows how to close the range on people and make it his fight... and seems like a versatile fighter....... he knows how to overwhelm you with punches, n that's down to his footwork and the positions he puts himself in.....

    2. Hes got good range, He just ain't fighting anyone worth note..... And anyone who's on his level..... Hes just missing half the punches he throws because they are pathetic fighters hes fighting.... Hes the sort of fighter that will shine against good aggressive fighters coz hes a quick boxer who throws a lot of combination's

    ____________

He ain't actually been in a real fight yet in his pro career to judge anything that hes doing....

He probably gets better sparring than the fights hes getting......

It's hard to fight someone who don't fight back, it makes you look messy.....

Watch Calzaghe Manfredo..... If u was to judge calzaghe off of that fight solely you would think he has no range.....

I do Judge Calzaghe and Degale's styles in the same sort of light.....

    I think they are similar....

NOW Bless up ya'self u hear me... brap brap brappp

No no no no, my friend.

They're nothing alike apart from being southpaws, no one is like Calzaghe thats why people found it very difficult to solve his style. Degale is/should be more orthodox, JC was more like Roy Jones, much more athletic then most fighters and had a natural/unique style which can't be replicated, all you had to do with Joe was get him in the best shape possible.

I would like to see Degale master the basics and just box and not try and overwhelm his opponents, the problem is that won't satisfy this new generation of "fans" with this perverse lust for blood.

Although i guess its nothing new and its always been like that. Some people even use to diss Sweet Pea, yeah I remember and have the footage in my library as proof. They called him a "showboat" "undisciplined" "unfocused" now those same people call him great. Ray Leonard was labeled a "runner" lol see I'm old to enough to remember this stuff.

yh yh, I wasn't saying they are the same fighter u nut job :patsch

I was just saying they are similar in the way they throw loads of punches and the different angles they throw them from..........and the way they avoid punches without the standard high guard, they are elusive in the same manner i think.... ...... And i can see Degale being a versatile fighter...

And that ain't even comparing them two as the same fighter..... So all you calzaghe fanatics chill out....
