Hey guys... was just generally day dreaming about some of the fights i would like to see and i thought that this would have been an interesting one. You may disagree but i believe that Gatti is the better boxer with a decent jab and good combination punching where as whenever I have watched Corrales fight, perhaps bar Casamayor II, he never used his long reach. But i think it would be a good scrap perhaps decided on who had the better training camp as both of these guys were pretty tempremental fighters.

Cheers guys... look forward to hearing what people think of this match up and whether it has been suggested before

P.S. is 135 the right weight for these guys is Gatti more of a 140lb fighter in his prime?

    Sorry for spelling Diego wrong!!

I think in a prime-4-prime match-up Diego was just a level up from Gatti, and would take this one by late TKO.

    Corrales was a class above.

Gatti was a great entertainer, with his all out brawling style, but wasn't all that as a rounded fighter, which was proven time and time again. His legacy would have been much better IMO had he got out following the beating by Mayweather - losing to Alfonso Gomez was embarrassing for him.

Prime for prime Gatti was a good fighter, while Diego at his best was a great one. Gatti might have some good success moving around the ring in this one, but I think eventually Corrales will be able to trap him on the ropes and once that happens Arturo will start to trade with a better fighter and he'll eventually get worn down and bombed out.

Corrales by 9th round KO. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Gatti were to drop Corrales early before getting knocked out.

Both guys will come out looking like different men no doubt...
when "Chico" was on and at his best there ain't many at this weightclass who can do/did it better than him.

Both have very heavy hands, maybe Gatti might even have the edge. [135]
But Gatti's best attriute will also be his worst enemy in this fight IMO.
Lightweight Gatti's love of a war will be a perfect fit for Diego's style.

Whoever land's that big bomb late will win this.
I'll say Left hook by Diego "Chico" Corrales in the 10th RD. Stop's Gatti.

i think gatti puts him down or hurts him a couple times with the big left ...but corrales had too much fire power himself and would end up stopping gatti in castillio fashion...

gatti had too big of a left hook to not beable to hurt corrales .. and corrales is there all day to be smacked when he's fighting inside...defense wasn't his strong point

great, great fight which would've been a classic, its 50/50 in my opinion, both guys had huge heat&passion, chico was the better boxer whereas i think gatti was the bigger puncher,im undecided but it'd either be a gatti ko from a left hook in 6 or so,or a chico late tko/decision.

Yeah, but Gatti on the inside has an even worse defense. He's almost unmissable in there and that I think will be his downfall.

Gatti at his best could box and more prety well, but once Diego starts to work his way inside on a consistent basis the warrior will come out in Arturo and he'll elect to battle too much on the inside with a better infighter in Corrales. If the trend of the fight continues that way, Gatti will get worn down and chopped down by Diego's shorter shots and Gatti would eventually fall to victim to a KO.

It should be a damn good fight while it lasts though, and like I said, I wouldn't be too surprised if Gatti were to drop Corrales in this one. Arturo always had pop, and Diego never had the sturdiest whiskers in the game.

This is really a pick em fight. I have too much love for them both to pick and it would be a really hard fight to watch for me...I don't know a KO from both is a strong possibility....I can't pick on this one..........

At first thought I think Corrales easy. I'm not sure Gatti was ever a "A" fighter, while I would put Corrales right on the door at 135. Gatti, of course, could knock him out, but I more so Corrales knocking Gatti out in the latter stages of the fight in an all out war.

Gatti is not the better boxer, but Diego's chin is below average. I think Gatti would win by TKO after getting cut to pieces for 5-8 rounds.
