aye it is a pick em fight.

neither fighters are intelligent fighters but they both wear their hart on their sleeve.

My gut reactions says Chico.....but him gettig KO'd by Gatti would not be out of the ordinary. Lets not forget how easy Chico was to be hit either. And he's been stopped several times.

Corrales defense was better than Gatti's... and he also had more power.

 

Interesting fight. Both had firepower,but the edge has to go to Diego but speed goes to Gatti. In in all out war, I give it to Chico but the Gatti who reinvented himself with McGirt in his corner and boxed beautifully would have beaten Chico IMO,but I guess we will never know!

By the way a this would have been a great fight. The Gatti pre Mayweather and Baldomir and Gomez would beaten Diego by late stoppage why Gatti could and would box Diego to set up the stoppage while Corrales was all action all brawling and made so many mistakes but a great fight but Corrlales was a pure warrior and could catch Gatti with something big also but i would go with Gatti with an 11 or 12 round stopage.

 

Would be a war. Although Corrales is the better fighter, his style plays into Gatti's hands. Guys like Freitas or Casamayor would have boxed Gatti silly. Corrales would probably TKO him, although with is chin and Gatti's power, anything is possible.

My pic. Corrales by TKO around the 7th. Corrales was a lot tighter and quicker with his punches in close quarters.

 

Gatti didn't have much success at 135.

Either 130 or 135, Corrales wins. His punches are way shorter and travel shorter distances. Gatti's best punch is the left hook, but it's wide. Chico would rip him down the middle with straight rights and his brilliant short left hook.

 

Corrales by KO but this fight would be a ****ing war and it would NOT be easy.

 

Chico by early round KO.

 

Corrales was there to be hit just as much as Gatti is there to be hit. I think Gatti had a better chin but he'd get hit more by more consistent powershots as both of these guys would fight shoulder to shoulder toe to toe forehead to forehead..

Corrales WOULD FOR A FACT hit the canvas several times!!! But I think his heart picks him up and really puts the pain on Arturo Gatti with his massive left hooks. There is no way that this fight is a clear win for Corrales, Either man would KO the other, Both fighters would stay right in the sweet spot of each others power range and it would be nothing but hooks and uppercuts!!! BRUTAL FIGHT.

 

I try to make myself think Gatti would be competitive but by fight time I see him getting his ass handed to him. Corrales lost to better fighters than Gatti
