This matchup is best at 130. 135 is where Gatti had that 3 fight losing streak and when his substance abuse may have been at its worst during his career. He wasn't preparing for fights like he should have been. Gatti was probably at his best at 130 when he fought Tracy Harris Patterson. He had pretty good hand and foot speed and respectable boxing skills. But it's unlikely it would have been enough. Gatti would have some success early on boxing and moving, but he'll get caught, probably with that straight right hand. Then Gatti gets hurt, and goes to war. Chico would frequently beat Gatti to the punch because his punches traveled a shorter distance. Chico by mid rounds stoppage. A little surprised how many people picked Gatti. Chico was simply a better fighter on a higher caliber. Sad that both guys died so young.
