Two Lightweights who unfortunately had to share an era with Duran, how would a fight between the two have played out if both men were at their best?

I'll take Buchannan ultimately, i think very highly of him it must be noted though. Dejesus has a decent chance, but i think the chessmatch will be won by Buchannan in the center of the ring, just exploiting more openings that his great skills have created moreso than his opponent has been able to do to him.

Nearly happened. If Buchanan had beaten Ishimatsu, he was supposedly scheduled to tackle DeJesus. But it never happened that way.

    Very close fight.

This would be fascinating. Skills are comparable, but Buchanan gets the edge in terms of will. Buchanan via decision.

Ill take the guy on the left.
    Bad style matchup for DeJesus.

Buchanan was the superior fighter, but it would be a close 15 round decision. The key factor would be Buchanan's being the tougher man, with the better chin. That would decide it more so than pure skill.

Nobody, honestly. This fight is a coin toss. Give me a free bet and i'd probably put it on Buchanan, similair thoughts to Stonehands, but could go either way, and could be Buchanan on my cards and DeJesus on 2/3 judge's cards....would be close. Would be close.

I think DeJesus is a little bit more skilled than Buchanan. He's definitely the better offensive fighter, whilst Buchanan is more the talent on the defensive end.

Buchanan's mental and physical toughness and stamina are his big advantages here but he will have to be willing to take many shots to be able to use them to his advantage.

He has shown that he can do that, and I think he'd own the championship rounds, but he'd be coming from behind imo when he makes his run.

Not sure who ends up the winner at the end but I think it would be razor thin either way.

I think Dejesus had better defence as well.

Buchanan was just stupidly over the top at times with his upperbody movement.

Buchanan has steadily plummeted in estimation for me over the years though.I think he was probably the worst of the world level British fighters active at the time.He just didn't have someone like Bob Foster or Saldivar in his path when fighting for the title.

Maybe, but Buchanan has the jab. If he can deploy it properly, he has a chance to keep things close early.

I disagree with you about Ken, but there is something to this right enough.

    Flash over substance.

The no-nonsense minimalist Jim Watt saw right through it and didn't miss a jab all fight.

Jim Watt had a good jab though, and he got beat, too.
