I'm only posting this because Oscar gave Floyd his last toughest fight and knowledgeable boxing fans in here(BE OBJECTIVE TOO ABOUT IT) explain and tell me who you think looks better prepared for Floyd's style? I think Oscar Looked great preparing from the footage I can see(freddie Roach was obviously the reason why) but to me it seems like Cotto has a lot more elements to what he's trying to do in the fight if you compare the footage. What do you guys think?

Again, I think that fight was way more about Floyd than Oscar. I think at that time Floyd was really a 140 pounder who I wouldnt have been shocked if he could still make LW. He was mad small. Meanwhile Oscar had recently fought at MW and just decapitated the tough as nails Mayorga.

Add to that you had Senior telling Floyd non stop that he has to watch for that hook because it will knock you out. I just think Floyd was very cautious, unsure if he could really handle a 154 pounder and take Oscar's power. Ive always said that if there was a rematch then Floyd wouldve been 10x more aggressive and looked alot better

Never seen this before. Oscar actually looked on top of his game there.

Interesting footage. Roach did real well having Oscar prepare for the counters. I was impressed more than anything by DLH's ability to kneel down to catch jabs on the top of his head and stay in balance to punch, and the tightness of his guard and parrying.

And he would've got caught if so. Luckily Oscar had lost his left hook by this point in his career as Freddie claimed.

THere's a reason Floyd had a **** load of problems with DLH. DLH was very focused and on point for that fight.... unfortunately he lost sight of the game plan and Floyd didn't...which allowed Floyd to pull out the W in the championship rounds. It wasn't exciting but it was a great chess match that Floyd won in a very close fight.

Cotto vs Floyd might have some resemblance to the DLH fight with Floyd. I see Cotto fighting a much more reserved and strategic fight. I dont' think Cotto will be pressuring Floyd the way most expect. He'll be switching gears taking the fight to Floyd and making Floyd come to him.....Body work will be key for Miguel and he'll need to jump on that early.

Why does Cotto throw his left hooks like that? He never did it in the Margo II fight

I noticed that during the fight too.

At the time, I had almost wondered if he was doing that in an attempt to get Floyd to injure his hands (cause he was executing like a master) :yep

Oscar gave Floyd his last toughest fight because he was simply that good, despite being on a declined and being a part time fighter. He has always had elite skills and had a great jab (styles) when he used it. Add to the fact that he had a nice reach advantage and is quick for his size, with his boxing ability, it was only logical that he would have given Floyd some trouble. That was Floyd's first fight at 154 and he'd never fought such a skilled big man before. Cotto doesn't posses anything over Floyd - boxing ability, or size. He's on an uphill battle on this one.
