Floyd broke up Oscar's offense and caused him to stop jabbing by jabbing back at Oscar. Oscar's stiff, standard issue 2-3 jabs was no match for Floyd's variety of jabs: the standard issue, flicker, and shank to the body. You can clearly see how Oscar hesitated whenever Floyd jabbed.

Floyd didn't do his usual, flashy pullcounter, so these fans can't get a hand on what forced Oscar to stop jabbing. The jab is a plainer punch, and it ended up flying right over their heads as the reason for why Oscar abandoned his jab.

Larry Merchant then conveniently gives them an excuse by AZZking Oscar why did you stop jabbing in the post-fight interview. Yet you have these guys fronting about how they're indifferent about what commentators say and are not influenced by it. Oscar, who didn't know what the hell went on in there and lost for this very reason, then answers I GUESS TONIGHT WASN'T THE NIGHT FOR THE JAB THEHEHEHE.

Oscar was the bully who would jab but was unable to handle it when Floyd sticked him up with one in return.

:thumbsup exactly. Plus what's the strategy a lot of fighters use to take away a jab? It's to jab with them. Eddie Futch told Norton to do it against Ali.

Tyson had plenty of gameplans where he'd jab in order to take away his opponent's jab also.
