Oscar's recent efforts to talk up Hatton's chances against Mayweather - in my opinion - are not sincere; at worst these are absurd and a product of both delusion and envy, and at best hopeful (maybe it's just an early marketing ploy to stoke up interest in a future match up with Hatton).

For the record Hatton's a great fighter "at light welterweight." Facts speak for themselve here. However, to say that Mayweather's punches have no pop, when Delahoya was visably shaken and kept honest by the same fighter just doesn't make sense. Delahoya was competitive for the first five rounds of their fight only because he had to walk through counter punch after counter punch until thereafter he was forced to change tactics - cumulative effects of punches me thinks!! Despite all the ludicrous posts I've read about this fight let me tell you what many fail to openly acknowledge: Delahoya was beaten soundly by Mayweather. And actually a close examination of Delahoya's past fights will show that he used to move and pot shot to overcome some of his opponents!

Now to Hatton. In my opinion Hatton has two major disadvantages going into this fight: 1) He's moving up a weight division where he undeservedly won (history will show that he lost this fight) a world championship belt despite struggling against a slick southpaw boxer in Collazo (BTW Collazo should sue the WBC for f**king up his career). Therefore he's technically the smaller man and will not have any size or strength advantages! 2) Floyd is pound for pound the best fighter skill wise that boxing has to offer today and has proven time and time again that his skill level and ring generalship is heads and shoulders above his elite peers.

What Hatton may have to his advantage, however, is that Floyd Mayweather may have taken his eye off the ball with his extra curricular exploits (dancing etc). Hatton is the wrong fighter to overlook, period, and consistently lays it all on the line.

Whatever happens the best man (fighter) should win and on paper that is undoubtedly Floyd; but, if he dares to underestimate Hatton, he's going to get a crash course how to dance whilst being KTFO ala Judah!!!

basically its a smart pick cause if he's right he's a genius against all odds and if he's wrong its "i like rooting for the underdog"

same reason why people are picking barrera.

I think it's like someone said the other day, Oscar's promoting/selling this fight. What's he gonna say, "yeah Hatton stands no chance in hell" which outside of the U.K. is the popular concencus? If everybody already knows the outcome why the hell would you pay to see it? Could be part too that he wants to cash in on Hatton's huge UK following by setting up a future battle with him at Wembley. It could be billed: My Two Sons with Mayweather co-promoting it.

Oscar wants Hatton next. He does this every time he wants to fight someone. He mentions their name and whatnot.... Just an early start on the marketing for his fight with Hatton, especially if Hatton wins.
