he may be one of the more skillful heavyweights in the uk (not hard) but he lacks power whilst acting like a thug. he's only fighting 4 rounders but still managing to cram in dirty moves like his favourite "punch behind his back with opponent in headlock" technique.
I was hoping someone started a thread about this guy. :good After watching him fight last night I thought he showed some skill. He has confidence but seemed content with roughousing and showboating etc. The time is ripe for a young heavyweight to emerge from these shores and on last nights showing he didn't do much for stating his case to challenge the likes of Skelton, Williams et al. I hope a decent trainer / team get a hold of this guy and try and instil a new work ethic.
he probably could achieve something domestically. but i don't think he'll win many fans with his current tactics and lack of knockout power. i'll be interested to see how far he does get though.
He was a banger in the amateurs but doesn't seem to have brought his power over with him to the paid ranks. Telford's Mark Lloyd, 10-0 (2), was a big banger in the amateurs but isn't one in the pros. I've just been speaking to Paul Butlin, who Chisora outpointed 39-37 last night, and he said that Chisora is good, can hit pretty hard (though he said Luke Simpkin hit him harder) and may win the British title. But Paul also added he thought he deserved a draw and that Frank Warren's claims that Chisora would be a world champ are way off the mark. I’ve heard from a journalist who was ringside and he said Butlin deserved to earn a share.
Chiorsa will win a British title but only becasue Williams, Skleton, Harrison and Sprott will be retired by then and Haye will be way beyond that level. Theres nothing about him that excited me. He need to get in better shape probs the worst i have ever seen a black heavy look.
