V. Klitchko - good fight, one of vitali's hardest fights, he usually doesnt lose more than 1-2 rounds and im pretty sure i gave chisora 3-4 in that fight, maybe more, he was in his prime there and vitali past prime, and vitali was a tad uncomfortable with the pressure derrick brang, vitali's superior technique won the fight, but i do think he had doubts about his condition after fighting the very tough and game chisora. T.Fury x 2 - The first one was a british level clash where both were considered pre prime especially fury who was young and a brawler type who used his size to beat his opponents into submission, they were not in great condition, but furys superior speed and punchrate kept chisora at bay for most of the fight until the later rounds where it became messy and huggy on the slack ropes. The Second one was a prime tyson fury vs a slightly beaten up version of chisora and it showed, tyson fury after the cunningham scare had begun to box his height and his terrific movement and jab was enough to retire usually the most gamest of fighters, chisora landed absolutely nothing all night and his eyes were busted up pretty bad by silky smooth fury. it was a good choice to retire chisora to fight another day. D.Haye - A very good exciting brawl with derricks pressure and chin giving haye a few good scares during the mid length fight he had david hurt but his wild swings are unaccurate at they let delboy down he never could develop a frazier like hook or sharp short right hand most of his punches come wide and spotted easily, haye can detonate chins if you allow him to land consistently and thats exactly what happened. R.Helenius - Big Rob was considered the heir of klitchko's crown at one point it was mostly because of his beastly ko's of washed up ex contenders or champions, he was exposed big time by derrick who outlanded him throught the fight and outworked him, he effortlessly slipped that lazy lazy plodding jab (helenius has no jab) and beat him up well, rob did have a have a good fight aswell he did land on chisora with a few big right hands, but delboys chin remained strong. it was a robbery in my eyes. delboy unofficially won it by UD. K. Pulev - I dont know what happened to delboy here, but he lacked any sort of ambition and hunger, and did next to nothing during the whole fight, his best work was done during the staredown where he managed to pull pulevs head down, with a slightly bemused reaction from pulev, it was quite clear that kubrat was purely proffesional and not going to get involved, he boxed the ears off delboy with his accurate snake like jab and good right hands. Its quite clear that delboy cant deal with a good jab, the better it is, the more he struggles. D. Whyte - Fight of the year candidate, two crazy and highly emotional characters that when put together in the squared circle delivered one of the best hw slugfests of the 21st century. it was nothing but big bombs from start to finish, with both men fighting out of their skins to keep the other from dominating, delboy pushed whyte back most of the fight and actually landed the most lethal looking blows, landing with his swinging hooks he staggered whyte plenty of times and with alot more compusure he could of put his lights out, but we all know thats not how derrick fights. whyte did the better work from the outside and despite his pre fight disrespect to delboy, i bet he wished he had boxed more and not allowed it turn to a brawl, because chisora won that brawl and almost polished him off. i had it very close but to delboy by SD. Rematch please! Chisora does not duck, well hes never be in the position to duck, never being the champ. despite his lunacies, i cant help but like him, i believe he is a honest fighter with anger problems, but other than his pre fight outbursts he is usually quite a humble character and likeable in interviews away from the tension of the crowds. he isnt a disrespectful character deep down like dillian whyte, who is just a toilet head. If he fights Joe Joyce then i see another good performace, he will be hungry to stop Mr hayes prodigy.
He also had wins over Scott and Johnson(when that meant something). With the exception of Fury II, all his fights have been competitive, and against the very best of the division. I think he was solidly top ten at his peak and is one of the more undderrated hws of the era.
I thought Del Boy put up a great fight against Vitali. One thing you can say about Del Boy is that he will fight anyone. Same as Whyte.
I was going to add them two, as they are okay journeymen level fighters aswell, but they are both very boring who usually stink out the arena, i dont remember there fights with delboy as anything but sleep inducing.
Decent fighter that is mentally strong. A lot of fighters lose a few times and give up and give **** performances from then on.
Vitali beat him with one arm though......................Chisora has bigger balls than Wilder.........................Wilder does not want to fight Whyte for $4,000,000 nor does he want to fight Joshua, Wilder is afraid!
Credit to Chisora he does fight all comers. Gotta love that but outside of Helenius, who was injured,(and I only scored it 7-5 Chisora) Chisora usually loses. His best performance is against past prime Vitali. Whyte fight was great action bout. I think he should be close to retiring he is very ring worn. If Povetkin gets past Price and Joshua decides to fight Wilder, a Povetkin vs Chisora bout would be a good payday for him with the winner lined up with a title shot.
That's the fate of a high level gatekeeper and some popular journeymen. Fighting big names troughout their careers, only winning a couple of these fights or none even.
I never cared for him much with his crude style and some of his crazy antics but he won me over after the Vitali fight. He's a real warrior, will fight anyone, often for not much money and always gives his best even when not in great shape. He's now one of my favourite active fighters. He's given us so many quality fights even though he's usually been beaten.
Del boy is a legend. But sadly not very good. Heart only gets you so far, but it has done him proud. Hope he gets a pay day versus Joyce soon. Be a good bout I think. It looks like it's possible with that staged interview thing with Haye on Saturday.
