The more you don't believe what a Pav fan has to say, the better off you are when talking about AA-Pavlik. Herm and Brad are absolute Pav dick riders to the fullest. All you have to do is read their lame posts on this subject that often fail in attempt at blaming AA for why this fight has not been made. These same two guys exlax on Floyd for what he said about Cotto(waiting for Cotto's fan base) yet, Pav has the right to sit around and wait until Pav-AA is big. Hypocrites...
how about abraham just fights a top guy..that would be a start...he is the new calzaghe....he needs to fight an american or at least a name fighter
Presumably this is someone different from the three Americans he fought in three out of his last four fights or the American-based 'name fighter' he fought in the other?
Abraham is a paper champ bum. It's annoying that TR can't get the deal done, but Pavlik is the linear champ and AA needs to do everything he can to get the fight. If he honestly has done that and cannot get it then moving up to a crowded SMW division and beating someone of note there would do wonders for his career and prove that he was really trying to get a fight with Pavlik. However, if Pavlik fights Sturm or Froch then I'd be less inclined to blame Pavlik or TR as both would be better competition that Abraham has ever fought. So many people seem to forget Pavlik running through Miranda and Taylor twice. Then giving up weight to fight an ATG in an effort to get a fight with Calzaghe. I haven't seen Abraham do anything remotely close to that ambitious, but that's my two cents.
There are a few people close to the Pavlik camp on this forum that keep me informed, both in postings and PM's. They thought the fight with Abraham would happen this November after Mora. I have posted before, there is a disconnect between Team Pavlik and Top Rank but that seems to have disappeared during negotioations for his new contract with Top Rank. Kelly personally killed the Mora fight. People criticizing him for fighting Sturm are just idiots. I have long said, "Take Sturm when and if you can get him" because of his history of hiding out in Germany. If Kelly gets past Sturm then I expect Abraham to happen IF Arthur decides to stay at MW. Kelly WANTS this fight. :deal
Kelly and Jack were dishonest with Arum over Kelly's physical condition. Had Arum known Kelly's true status that fight would have been postponed. Team Pavlik ended up in Arum's doghouse over it and I think rightly so. Kelly's health has been documented too many times here. I'm not going over it again. People that have chosen to ignore it will continue to do so because it suits their needs.
Little doubt in my mind this fight isn't happening because of purse expectations on both sides. You can analyze this all you want, but it comes down to money. Saurland doesn't want to put up any of his money from his 'budget' for his TV contract. Arum has been in the business too long to let Saurland pretend this fight won't be big in Germany. If that is the case, let Saurland take it out of the contract pool and sell it seperately. That should solve a lot of the problems right there.
:think...How the hell could I have been reading the Ring all this time, and not noticed that Scar is Doug Fischer?:yep Many adjectives to describe Abraham, making him sound like a secret S.R. Robinson. While the author had only one for Pavlik, plodding.:rofl Scar: Just kidding, ****er.
Arum said as much A LONG ****ING TIME AGO!, but you know nobody remembers that. I can't remember his exact wording, but it had to do with "2 Champ horses eating from one trough". (I think, lol)
He's fighting guys available and has been calling out the top guy for a long time now. Who else is there?, even Pavlik can't find anyone decent to fight as the division lacks enough "top" guys. They have also tried to get Sturm in there for a long time now and were publicly turned down twice.
I don't think Pavlik being a Top Rank fighter has much to do with things. If anything you'd want to make Pavlik look like god since Hopkins (A GBP based fighter) beat him.
