I cant stand Khan but he listened to Freddie and fought the right fight against a limited and feather fisted champ who only had the belt because M'baye had a bad night against Rees.I'm sure Warren can influenece every mandatory and feed Sky PPV a string of nobody defences.More ammo for the "all British fighters are bums" brigade. I'm not a believer, but props to Khan and Roach for doing what they had to do.

Well i said Khan by UD. He should make the most of the strap while he has it, it's vacate the title to fight a shot to bits morales or fight mandatory Maidana and get KTFO.

I can't understand why he would go to the UK to fight. Dude you are the champion make him come fight you in Germany. I think that the judges got swayed by the crowd. I have Kotelnik winning 4 or 5 rounds. Khan was mostly hitting his gloves.

Now will Frank Warren do what he did with Calzaghe and have Khan defending against good fighters for years or will see Khan actually put in there v some serious fighters?

I was pretty sure he'd get KOed, and with good reason - There's the Prescott issue and of course he was seriously hurt and rocked by Willie Limond, for ****'s sake. That said, I'm pleased to be proven wrong - I dislike the irrational and over the top hatred Khan seems to inspire and think he's a talented boxer. I suspect he'll still come a cropper against any legitimate puncher unless he somehow finds a way to jab and move his way through an entire fight (think Lewis vs Tua but more extreme and risk averse) but I'd like to be incorrect once more.

Oh, and :nut:patsch at those who scored the bout even.

Who cares about the scorecards, he won with ease. I had it 116-112 Khan, but with a little bias towards Kotelnik, it probably was a 118-110, fight. 120-108 is a bit of a stretch, but it doesn't matter.

    Congratulations to Amir Khan!

I had it 117-111 in his favour. Roach has done a tremendous job in tightening up his work and Khan has learnt well. His timing was particularly good, when Kotelnik would get him close to the ropes and look to start throwing he'd open up with three or four quick shots at just the right time to stop him.

Khan said he was getting tired around the 10th and you could see that, that right hand guard was dipping a little from time to time where it had been nailed onto the side of his head before, but he still kept it together well.

Amir Khan WBA champ, well done lad.
