Its wishful thinking on your part more like it. If he doesn't get a big fight early next year he will pretty much be forgotten about with the emphasis being on 147 pounds and below and 168 and above. Whether its his fault or not he has already become far less relevant. The fact that he was fighting a welterweight says a lot in itself. The only meaningful Pavlik fight possible in the next year or so would be vs the Andrade - Bute winner. It doesn't help that he is fighting in arguably the weakest division in the sport.

I like Pavlik and he is an entertaining fighter but going over a year without fighting a decent opponent isn't good for anyone. Neither is losing at least a full year of your prime, particularly on the back of an embarrassing loss.

Yeah. 99.9% of this 'community' shows up only on fight night and have NO clue what happens in between. Of the 7 K people that showed up to Pavlik's fight in Ytown, how many visit this board? 4 or 5 at most from what I could tell. I would expect the PPV % to be even lower because of illegal feeds. But, believe what you want. Feel "vindicated" if it helps. Believe me, none of this will show up in Pavlik's next negotiations. All he has to do is pick out someone eager for a title shot as a tune up. End of..... But, feel free to look me up when I'm proven wrong.

LMFAO, what Pavlik does in the ring doesn't make that surgeon sh*t. Its not feeding his family dude. He told them the staph was healed, and the hand should be back to mobility before that date. If your Arum and Loew and your guy can't clinch his friggin fist and Goossen and Peterson are yelling "don't sign this fight if you can't make it happen" its your responsibility not to sign the fight, not the surgeon's!!!!!:patsch don't deflect the blame here

At this point, between the inactivity and hand issues, I would expect him to do a tune up. Maybe a mandatory. He still wants to unify. Sturm is willing. No clue about the other belt. Yeah, not a lot at 160 so a little delay doesn't hurt him too much. The point is other promoters go through the same thing so THEY will not be holding this against Pavlik. Plus, if you are in the business, you pretty much have to deal with Arum. The 'consequences' WWM is implying is being way over blown and stems from refusing to post his fight analysis. He feels this vindicates him for that and he can now spout garbage uncontested. Ain't gonna happen.

Middleweight is the limit for them now, SMW was never mentioned nor planned for yet.

I understand why the people in this thread who are upset with Pavlik feel slighted because as boxing fans we all had high expectations for this fight and now we are deprived of a potential FOTY candidate. It's only natural that we assign accountability and clearly if there's someone or one side to blame then it's Pavlik or he team for moving forward with the contract knowing that the extent of the injury was uncertain.

Ideally HBO should just switch the proposed Mosley-Berto to Dec 5th and reschedule PTP-Pavlik for Jan 30.

It's been a rough year for boxing fans with all the rescheduling so personally I'm just anxious to see big fights sooner rather than later.

That's it. I'm ****in' done with Pavlik. From now on he's a ****in' skirt in my book as far as I'm concerned. Williams just has to go tell him to **** off now.

Why sign a contract! Plain and simple!!

After the first pull out team Williams was looking for another prospective opponent but Team Pavlik said that Kelly was cleard to fight!!!

Team Pavlik just took 4 months off of Paul Williams career!!! No class at all very unproffesional!!!
