So Berto is a big payday:? And your calling me the ******. No one is buying Berto as a threat to Mosley. He struggled against Collazo. The same Luis Collazo Mosley dominated. He looked unimpressive against Urango. Hatton did a better job outboxing Urango. If Mosley is gonna go around and say no one wants to fight him. Than he shouldn't be making excuses about why he doesn't want to fight Williams. That their is a coward plain and simple.
Wait i thought Mosley is not chasing for a big pay day? Didn't he said (you got fighters like Pacquiao, Mayweather, Cotto chasing big money fights while i'm not doing that. It's not about money.) <<<<<And when Williams names mention Mosley went other direction.
Williams fans believe he an beat everyone, so why not a heavyweight for a tuneup? (sarcasm, for those who do not know what it is)
Berto boxed Urango's ears off over 12 rounds. It wasn't particularly an aesthetically pleasing performance however he was in fact dominant. And if your going to play the "Mosley had an easier time against Collazo than Berto did so that's proof that he's gonna win" GAME then allow me to point out that Berto KOed Estrada who Mosley went the distance with. Both points mean very little when you factor in styles in a h2h matchup. In case your not aware, there are in fact those who feel that Berto is a threat to Mosley. Me being one of them.
Oh wow he outboxed Urango. Because thats really hard to do. Did you not see the Ricky Hatton outboxing Urango comment I made? Estrada was shot to hell by the time he got to Berto. He had a brutal fight with Mosley and was in another brutal fight with Cintron where he took a hell of a beating en route to a knockout. He wasn't the same fighter plain and simple. Thanks for bringing up the facts. It was fun denouncing them with my own facts.
As everyone else, I'm disappointed that Williams-Pavlik was postponed again. I was really looking forward to that fight. However, give Pavlik a break. He's injured, this is documented, if this isn't a good enough reason for postponing the fight then I don't know. Such things happen. To those who said he was scared, I can only say these claims are laughable, why did Pavlik agree to the fight in the first place then? And the fight is not off, it's only postponed. Personally, I would not want to see the fight knowing that Pavlik wasn't a 100% fit. Moreover, if Williams should win then, there would be no excuses.
First he's wasn't impressive and now you disregard the ease in which Berto was victorious, which is it? As did Berto, it happened, that's all I'm saying. Estrada fought his fight and was able to impose his will on Berto. He was beaten not because "he was shot to hell" but because he was out brawled and overwhelmed by Berto's hand speed. There was nothing to denounce. Clearly you've missed the point of my post which was to provide insight that there are in actuality people who view Berto as a viable threat to Mosley because it's clear that you've dismissed such a possibility.
I'm with you on this one, though I blame Team Pavlik more than Pavlik himself. Winky isn't a good fight for Pavlik, I don't think. He's not the kind of guy you can look good against and he's a tough opponent coming off a 12-18 month layoff. Pavlik will have a mando early-mid next year; he can dispense with him quickly and then hopefully make PW vs. KP for mid-late next year.
I don't buy this. In an interview with the Vindy, Jack Loew said that the doctor said he would "hopefully" be ready to close his fist at the start of this week. Now, how any top-level trainer can plan to begin training properly - heavy bagwork, lifting etc. - for a time when his fighter is only "hopefully" going to be able to close his fist, let alone beat people up with it, is just beyond me. They took a massive risk and cut the timetable way too fine. They should have given Pavlik a good couple of months to let the hand rest before they entered training camp.
It doesn't seem like he wants the fight. Surely they wouldn't have rescheduled if he was still suffering from the same injury. Doesn't make sense to make a new date if there is still a chance he might not be ready. Williams should take another fight on December 5th and look for Pavlik next year. I'm not sure who's availabe but what about Martinez or Cory Spinks @ Light Middle or Sylvester @ middle.
