The headbutt dind't cause the knockdown. Agbeko went down on his own accord thinking the ref would show him sympathy... again, Agbeko was the one who ****ed up there.
Showtime can't keep having these lack luster fights and controversial decisions ... they are falling behind and not giving themselve any credibility. Their commentary sucks ... they sometimes they have some very boring fights and don't create any drama for the fans.
It was a close fight...I had it 114-113 to Perez...so I felt the right guy won. But if that KD in the 10th was scored properly, then I would have scored it for Agbeko 114-113, as he was clearly winning that round. What a ****ing fight tho...once again Showtime ends up with a winner! Anyone else notice that Al Bernstein's scorecards are always a mess? He gives a guy 2 straight rounds when he had him down by one and says "I have it all even"...umm, what? Then at the end, he said he had Perez up by a round, says Agbeko took the final round and goes "I had Perez by two rounds"....ummm, what? I love Bernstein, but damn man, take a math class or something...LOL!
It's the same **** after every close fight on these message boards, everything is a robbery. I'm sure a few whiny ****s will say they won't watch boxing any more because of this decision.
Even though my scorecard had Agbeko by 1 pt, I thought it could go either way, I was just surprised at the wide margins. Though in the re-match I don't know how Agbeko is going to win it. It was the perfect scenario for Agbeko, Perez was sitting in the pocket for most of the fight.
judges didn't like Agbeko. I scored the fight dead even 113-113 and that was with me scoring a 9-9 round when I felt like giving it to Agbeko. very close fight, could've gone both ways but those scores are just indicative of what is wrong with the sport today.
