To answer your questions. I fell that you got to make a cut off somewhere. I belive that top 25 means without any doubt an all time great. I would also say that all the boxers on the list besides Holyfield are in the top 25. I also must be honest and say that I only have a top 4. that I'm commited to. So when I say top 10, 15, 25 or so on. There is some wiggle room. In my opinion Hoppkins, Mayweather, Pacquiao and Jones. (I hope I'm not forgetting anyone). Are within the top 25 range. While Holyfield is not.
Roy Jones Junior- With him it was generally a thing that was recognised early in his career, the ridiculous natural ability that enabled him to basically be superman without much technical prowess, and with the win over Toney, and the nature of it, you wouldn't have found many detractors at the time, we should have known earlier actually, when he beat Hopkins, the hidden gem of the 90's Evander Holyfield- when he moved up from cruiser it was accepted across the board that he was untouchable at that weight, such things usually have a man regarded as an atg Bernard Hopkins- Sorry to have to sound like an armchair fan here, but it's probably with the Trinidad win. I know in hindsight it seems blatant that he was the most complete technician of the era, (probably still is), but let's be honest, we slept on Hopkins' skills in the 90's, a lot of people did anyway, very silly of all of us, as he reminds us very very often. Manny Pacquiao- Hard to say, he was formidable at 122, I remember always watching his fights at that weight, then the win over Barrera could be the point you acknowledge his greatness, or it could be more of an accumulation thing, because after that he just kept on rackin up these quality wins. Floyd Mayweather Junior- I recognised him as the number one or two at 130 once he moved out of the division, like with Holyfield, such things normally have you recognised as an atg, at least on some level.
I think it would really enhance all of their legacy's and improve their ATG ranking if we watch all their footing in black and white.
Epic comedic gold. I read this least night & ended up dreaming about meeting IB; I spent the encounter tirelessly idiolising him, naturally. (No Homo)
Roy Jones Junior-After stopping Jeff Lacy. Evander Holyfield-After going the distance with Valuev. Bernard Hopkins-He was only prime for the first Jones jr. fight. Still his greatest peformance, not the shell you see today beating Pavlik and Tarver. Manny Pacquiao-The steriod abusing Catch Weight King will never be an ATG unforunately Floyd Mayweather Junior-Roberto Apodaca. :deal
