No. It was reactive, I dont believe it was done with the intent to commit a foul. He wasn't waiting for Lemieux to go down so he could hit him. He was in seek and destroy mode.

The ref should have given him time to recover but a DQ would have been extreme in my opinion.

No. If you turn the back of your head toward your opponent as a defensive measure and then get hit in the back of the head you have no claim. Thats what happened here.

I pray Prichard Colon recovers, but thats a lot of what happened to him too.

No. It was unintentional, albeit quite damaging.

Ref dropped the ball on it, same as GGG's fight. The receiving fighter should have gotten a chance to recover, and the fouling fighter should have been given a warning/deduction.

I think rabbit punches are not punished enough, very dangerous, illegal for good reason.

Rabbit punches put McClellan in a coma. But that was blatant. Crawfords punch was nowhere near blatant. GG's punch on Lemieux while he was almost on a knee wasn't either.

I would be fine with time to recover and just a stern verbal warning to Crawford. We get the benefit of replays and hindsight though. The actual ref makes his decisions in an instant with the one real time view he had.

Tony Weeks should be suspended he let Julius Jackson get dropped like 10 times by Jose Uzcategui the name fighter when he was clearly hurt beyond recovery and then screwed over the visitor last night by jumping in way too soon for the stoppage and no letting him recover properly after the rabbit punch. Add to that he allowed an immense amout of rabbit punching from Yunieski Gonzalez against Pascal and ia mind numbing amount of holding from Broner against Porter with no deductions and missed calling an obvious knockdown of Stiverne by Wilder. He's getting sucky as a ref.:deal

How about Bowe-Golota II, when Bowe clubbed Golota with at least a half a dozen rabbit punches, which culminated in what was ruled a knockdown for Bowe. Then Eddie Cotton had the audacity to disqualify poor Golota later in the fight. :bart

That said, rabbit punches seem to rarely get penalized in my experience.

I just said the same thing, not having seen this. Agreed. They really do seem to penalize that foul far less often than others. :good

Watch Marciano-Archie Moore to see some fine rabbit punching. It was a lot more common in the old days.

Ali refined rabbit punching to an art form. He learned at the feet of the Master...Chuck Wepner.

No, but a point or two should have been taken.
