they both had no real chance, but wepner has less of a no real chance.

I voted a draw. Both did great against past prime ATGs until they were stopped. They were also both defeated by biased refs in premature stoppages. Vitaly was on his way toward a definite points win or stoppage while Wepner was slightly behind in the last round and would probably not been given a draw even by unbiased refs. On the other hand he floored Ali in the 9th and had him badly hurt, only for the ref to give Ali time to recover.

Both were robbed of career defining wins, so it's a draw for me.

russel jr against lomachenko. weird decision, was a 50-50 fight I taught Russell won it but a draw would have been fair. lomachenko was also the way bigger man on fight night. Russell won a moral victory there

Hopkins vs kovalev. Hopkins fighting the way bigger man gave him no chance, if kovalev wasn't so much bigger Hopkins would have schooled him

What's going on here? I voted, and the poll says I've voted, yet my outstanding post has disappeared......what kind of black magic is this BE?

Probably Wepner by virtue of the fact that he was supposed to have " no chance." Most people knew that Vitali was a formidable opponent for pretty much anyone.

You don't really want to go that path yet again do you?

Vitali would have won but for the fact that lewis repeatedly punched him in the face thus robbing him of certain victory. What a rotter.

initially i thought vitali, but wepner was a bigger outsider and lasted longer so i'm going with him.

That was the only objectionable thing you saw in that post?:D

I know you don't like Ali, but objecting to that and not to "Wepner being robbed of a KO and pushing Ali close before being unfairly stopped"... You're hilarious.

Vitali was winning the fight and lost to a freakish injury. Wepner just stayed upright, unless you credit him for landing 500 rabbit punches.

Not really comparable. Of course, Vitali was more impressive. He might have won if not for the cut, and sent Lennox into retirement.

Chuck did help give us "Rocky", however, so maybe he actually did more for Boxing.

Said no one, ever. What a joke. Everyone other than a very small few number of black supremacists had it 10-2 to Lomachenko in what was a complete schooling. Yet most of the black supremacists also had it 10-2 Lomachenko.

Russell Jr was hitting gloves and was just very ineffective.
Lomachenko is one of the best fighters I've ever seen. Lomachenko schooled Russell Jr in his third pro fight here, and won the WBO title!

The only rounds he lost were because of what he didn't do, as opposed to what Russell did. Lomachenko used to reset when there was a hint of aggression, but now he doesn't do that. He's learning so fast.

Absolutely no moral victory for Gary. He was absolutely demoralised at the end lol, have a look yourself.

Al Bernstein and Max Kellerman both feel that Lomachenko showed he is as good of a body puncher as both Julio Cesar Chavez and Mike McCallum.

With regards to Vitali, Lennox was starting to take over, and was timing Vitali a lot better. Vitali was getting worn down. This is a fading Lennox here.
