Right. I already addressed that. Kovalev is contractually obligated to fight on HBO. Stevenson's management team works for both Big Al and Showtime to a limited extent and they would win and try to stage the match on Showtime. Duva pulled the plug on that because of those specific reasons. HBO refused to deal directly with Big Al and wouldn't allow him off HBO. This is your golden goose?
Krusher wanted part part of him. Look at his resume. Its an embarrassment. Superman has a better record:rofl To the victor belong the spoils. Thats SupaMan
Get real we all know who ducked who lol at the idea Kovalev ducked him though. Just shows how deep your prejudice runs.
A purse bid was ordered. The fight seemed closer than ever. Then, suddenly, Main Events backed out. Main Events CEO Kathy Duva cited Kovalevs contract with HBO. If Main Events lost the purse bid, Kovalev would be forced to fight on another network, something, Duva said, that was contractually prohibited. That HBO would want to broadcast Kovalev-Stevenson is understandable. The network has invested time and resources in building Kovalev into a mainstream star. Yet if the network wanted the fight badly enough it would have offered Duva the financial support to compete with a Haymon-fueled purse bid, a bid that likely would have exceeded $5 million. And if it didnt, well, there are solid reasons why it would benefit HBO to get out of the way. There was NO ducking by Kovalev, at all. Why would Duva sue in order to secure the match and then pull out? Because Kovalev is afraid? Give me a fuking break. Everyone knows Kovalev will break his jaw. The fight was scheduled to take place in advance, the 4th quarter of 2015. They were not willing to risk Hayman and his revolving door of promotional companies pulling out and the lost revenue. Call it cheap, but that's what it is. Hayman would've won the price bid. Kovalev being on HBO is under contract has to fight there, no other considerations are possible. Point blank, end of story. They offered Mychel a joint promotion to make the match happen, but Hayman refused and wanted to control the proceedings essentially with a purse bid that he was absolutely guaranteed to win. "We want to make the fight very much and we'd love to make the fight with them on a 50-50 deal," Duva told ESPN.com. "But Sergey is contractually tied to HBO and we can't go to a purse bid. We can't fight the fight if we lose the bid, so there's no point in going to the bid and putting on charade." Duva told Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times that she and Yvon Michel, Stevensons Canadian representative, had their ducks in a row. But buy-in from Stevenson and Haymon was a dead end. Either Al is putting his interests ahead of Adonis or Adonis doesnt want the fight, she said. I have to come to the conclusion Adonis doesnt want the fight. If he did, hed stand up to his manager and tell him to make the fight. We had a site (MGM Grand in Las Vegas), a date, everything in place, a 50/50 split. They walked away from that deal. They know its not coming back. This is simply the reality. Hayman does not work well with others. HBO refuses to deal with him for the most the part. Duva offered co-promotion to make the match work. They refused. The fight died. How this has anything to do with what people are alleging, that Kovalev ducked him, is laughble, at best
The first time the fight didn't happen it was Stevensons fault the second time it was Kovalevs. Seems pretty clear to me. I didn't have a problem with either to be honest.
If Kovalev wasnt ducking then why was he quacking after Pascal fight? "I would like to fight Adonis Chickenson, quack quack quack" What he really meant to say: "I would like to DUCK Adonis Stevenson"
