Barrera clearly beat Morales the 3rd time and then EM went on to beat Pacquiao. They possibly could have fought a 4th time right after this, but EM continued with his series with Pacquiao, in which he was stopped twice and also of course loss to Raheem in that period, so there was little incentive for MAB to meet him again.

Now that both have retired and at least Barrera is planning a comeback, the potential for a 4th fight still exists, but I don't think it is likely.

I thought for sure that if Morales had beaten David Diaz he would have fought Barrera a 4th time. It would have been their 4th fight at a 4th different weight class.

After that loss Morales went on to fight Pacquiao, which was a far bigger/better fight since he beat Barrera already, then after that Morales was hooked up with a rematch and went on to lose to Raheem and twice to Pacquiao after it. Barrera had no interest in that and for obvious reasons.

I hope a fourth fight isn't even discussed now, Morales is far more shot than Barrera. At least Barrera went the distance with the current #1 P4P fighter and gave the #3 or #2(depending where you want to put him) P4P fighter in Marquez a tough close fight where many had him winning. Barrera has more left than Morales at this point.

Morales won't make 135 anymore, much less 140. I hope this doesn't linger and you see a geriatric battle like Nelson-Fenech years later.

There was talk of a 4th fight after Morales beat Pacquiao but successive losses to Raheem & Pac twice dulled the interest.

Im in 2 minds about this 4th fight because, as said above, I believe MAB has got much more left than Erik at this point & therefore I would make him a huge favourite but on the other hand Morales will never hear the end of it if he leaves the series at 2-1, its a tough call for Morales but if it were up to me Id say **** it & go for the 4th fight. At the end of the day, whats the difference between 2-1 & 3-1, you`ve lost anyway, at least he can give himself a chance of making it 2-2 aswell as beating a guy he genuinly dislikes.

Its not out of the question that he could beat Barrera but he better get in terrific shape & fight better than he did in his last 4 fights, thats for sure.

This might sound crazy but if Morales is struggling badly with his weight then I think he should fight Mayweather at 147 for his last fight, why not ?

EM has always fought the best & will be in a no lose situation with EVERYTHING to gain, as I said, why not ?

Interesting, Morales always had some bitter words for Mayweather, and Mayweather really took them to heart.

I would of loved to see them fight at 130 back in 2002 for that sake, but now it would be a more worser circus than Pacman/DLH.

Not as much, most people thought MAB won all three so there wasn't as much clamor for it.

Erik would get killed now. He's had a fantastic career, and I'm hoping he leaves it where it is and enjoys what he's earned.

    I hope you're just joking.....but honestly.:patsch

I kid you not, but imo a Mayweather-Morales fight at 147 lbs would make Mayweather-Gatti look like the Thrilla in Manila.
Mayweather is so far ahead of Morales right now, that I believe Mayweather could name the round and the minute he KO's Morales.
.....an utter mismatch. You should'nt even joke about it BB.

Its bad enough that Morales who has been rumored coming out of retirement, might fight Juan Manuel Marquez who imo would brutalize Morales who is just to slow of physical speed and reflex to compete with any of the elites.
