Oscar was always good with the tko. See Ricardo Mayorga fight and Fernando vargas fight, Mosley was having a beaming smile in the audience as Oscar did his work. Oscar used to say "I know it sounds barbaric, but once I see blood, I want to see more, tee hee."
I don't believe JC Superstar was something special of a puncher. He always wrapped things up when it was time. Is Monzon considered a shooter? He always took guys out like a lethal injection when he'd seemingly had enough or was pushed to act like a barbarian.
I would agree Holyfield's power often gets underrated. He's not a puncher as such but he hits hard and with a variety of punches as you point out.
They probably got lost in the wipe out or whatever it was here way back Flash but I've seen a couple of fantastic arguments put forth that Armstrong was a very very good puncher at some weights.
Yeah man, that was savage, and that ref was way late stopping it. Pea's nastiness in the ring was at such odds with his 'cute' style. I remember when Chavez whacked him low a few times during their fight, and PW gave him a lethal stare which actually appeared to put a bit of fear into Julio. Sal Sanchez was a good finisher considering he wasn't the biggest banger ever. His rhythm, accuracy & punch selection were all top-notch! PS just remembered the ref's name, Arthur Mercante Jr. - one of the worst ever.
Disagree with the punch estimation. SRL had significant power, sometimes KOing his opponent with one punch.
