Jack Johnson is severely overrated and would’ve lost to Jeffries at any point in Jim’s prime

 

Sanders landed bombs later in the fight before gassing out. I know because I was there. I have never witnessed another puncher in person who could throw like Sanders (and I attended Joshua--Ruiz).

I had Canelo winning by a round the first fight but had about four rounds that could have been toss ups depending on how you score.

Satterfield may have definitely had millions of good fights that we could enjoy, but sadly only a few of them are available.

Maybe I'll rewatch this and see if my score has changed. The thing with Canelo fights is that the other fighter almost always is busier and may look more effective than he really is, but in reality is often pitty patting and hitting gloves. I think the commentary for the Saunders and Plant fight was pretty atrocious, with a lot being made out of ineffective punching.

I thought that also was the case for Bivol early on and didn't give him many of those rounds, but he started to land with more intention and take over in the second half of the fight.

 

Well it's been ages since I watched it, and I have no intention of rewatching it. But I thought it was a very close fight and 117-111 was way off, Lara actually out landed Canelo aswell if I remember rightly. But I'm not gonna go Into a debate about it as it's your opinion.

 

He never beat a fighter as heavy and Holyfield who was that good and had that much experience.

Ali lost on purpose to Leon Spinks in 1978. I doubt that he was gambling but the motive to become the first 3 time champion was all he had left other than retire. He didn't want to retire. He had no chance of beating Norton.

When you look at his weight going into the bout and his lack of effort over the course of the fight. Spinks was the only guy he thought he might beat in a rematch.

 

You know something? If I had scored the fight based solely on that particular punch, I might be inclined to concede to you. Good thing I watched the whole of it. God forbid I reduce my argumentation to a single second of a twelve round fight.

Oh, and Whitaker was ahead in the second round.
