Botha is a better fighter, I saw this comparison in the other thread and I don't like it much. Botha was a tough guy who could hang in there with anyone and really fight them. Ruiz has so many robbery wins it's nuts. Botha can move his hands to do things other than hug, he really could. But idk, this would be an ugly one. I'll favor the tougher man in a battle of the rough housers, being Botha.

I can’t imagine this being a crowd pleasing fight. I might go with Frans Both by a narrow decision but in truth it’s close

Ruiz is an ATG, Botha, while sporting the finest set of Boerish hams since Jimmy Abbott, isn't quite an ATG.

Would it be scheduled for 2 out of 3 falls, instead of rounds?
If Ruiz realizes that he can walk Botha into a right hand at will, he will win easily.
Every single time in his life that Botha threw a right hand punch, he swung his right foot forward. Basically walking into the counter. You slide your left foot forward, lean in a bit, then slide back when he throws his right hand, and throw your right hand.

It would be a very ugly fight and probably a close decision either way. But I'll side with Botha because I like him more than Ruiz.

Botha atleast gave us some entertaining wars vs Moorer, Briggs.

The most entertaining thing about Ruiz was his loud mouth trainer, and when he got splattered in 10 seconds by Tua.

I'll take the former champion who beat Holyfield, Rahman, Golota, and Kirk Johnson.
