Proving what ? We already know ggg is the king of any division he enters. All he's doing is shattering every mw record then moving on.

Canelo should vacate and fight the top jmw's and certain mw's until ggg moves on. There's no reason canelo who can easily make 154 be fighting ggg at 160 which is the only place ggg should fight until he's past the 20 def streak..

 

it would be very difficult to cut that down even with a full camp without it having any negative effect on a fighter. however we know GGG can cut weight as he said he would for floyd, but i suppose its more of a risk against a bigger guy than canelo.

Canelo should've never faced Cotto. He got the high profile win he was craving but maybe didn't recognize the backlash it would set off.

Sulaiman needs to enforce the rules and force him to vacate the title. He should just move back down to 154 and stay there until he's ready to move up to 160 lbs.

Even discussing those 5 pounds is just sad. The fact is, GGG is mandatory for WBC Middleweight belt. Canelo has the WBC MW belt and he has to defend it against mandatory which is Golovkin. If he ducks GGG, he ducks simple as that and it´s his shame for not having cojones to face the real champion of the weights.

 

Neither one was going to defend their belts at 164. Golovkin wasn´t challenging Wards 168 belt and Ward was not going to defend his belt and vice versa. Pure catch weight fight for money and honor. Very simple.

 

Yes and whilst I don't agree with catchweights as a rule, a catchweight fight between two fighter's from different weights is more acceptable than a catchweight fight between fighters who are not only fighting in the same division but actual champions in the same division.
