I'm talking at 135. None of those fights would have any value if they happen at 125.

Chan Sung Jung against Denis Bermudez was pretty special too. Honorable mention to Heath Herring for surviving a terrible 1st rd against Aliakbari and coming back to take the 2nd(hurting Aliakbari) after EIGHT years out of the ring. Aliakbari may be green, but he's still one of the best HW prospects in all of MMA.

    Course they have value.

If Garbrandt takes the title off Johnson then returns to 135 and beats Dillashaw say, he puts himself in atg standing.

If DJ beats Cody he gets a victory over the man who beat Cruz, and a man in his prime.

    It's a great fight at 125 imo.

Disagree completely. Even you highlighted on the condition that he makes the weight safely, the chances of that happened are slim to none. Garbrandt would kill himself trying to make 125. I want to see Johnson test the waters of 135 again, there's nothing left for him at 125. That's a start if this GOAT and P4P talk is to be taken seriously.

The reward is worth the risk imo. If Garbrandt does move down and emerges victorious he guarantees his greatness. Beating DJ at 135 wouldn't mean as much to him as DJ has proven to be too small for that division.

DJ has Borg as a viable opponent as he's coming off a good win over Formiga.

Size didn't stop Penn, Edgar, Cormier, Couture, Gracie, Sakuraba and Fedor from taking risks and achieving what they achieved. Mighty Mouse has every right to stay at 125 and rule there for as long as he likes, but he wants to go above and beyond being a great champion he should try his hand at 135. Of course it's completely reasonable that he goes for the record first before moving up, after that I'd like to see him move up again.

    Good points made.

That point i do totally agree with. I still completely disagree that a 125 win over Garbrandt is anything other than a great victory.

Yeah if DJ wants to enhance his legacy he needs to step up and go for the belt at BW not drain opponents down to FW.
