Tell me what you see in the modern HW division that wouldn't allow Big Nog to compete with the top 5 guys... This is the same old tired "new breed" argument that started when Lesnar broke in - Yes MMA has come a long way, sure.... That doesn't mean there weren't pioneers who couldn't have held their own and then some if they fought today.

**** that "new breed" ****. Lesnar is stedded to the gills 24/7 - thats why he had diverticulitis.
The Nog's were good for their time but their stand up lacked.

Tbf you're prob right about Minotauro - his stand up was generally ok in MMA (if not a little lazy at times) but Rodrigo was very one dimensional

Josh Barnett is still one of the best around today, he was a champion like forever ago!

Barnett, Hunt, Mir, Arlovski etc. hanging around kind of discredits the line of reason that Dougthethug and others put forth.

Not really. Good enough to hold his own with someone like Kharitonov who's hands are as good as it's going to get in MMA.

Fedor never fought the best of the best? Well then tell us, what was Fedor doing while he was in Pride then?

Your ignorance shows in the fact that you put Strikeforce above Pride.

Also, it's not about Fedora age. Do you know anything about combat sports?? It's about the long career that he had. He was undefeated for over 10 years against the best Competition in the world,

At that time. MMA was a very young sport back then.

That back then MMA was mainly full of brawlers rather than technical fighters.

    Randy Couture is incredibly technical.

Sakuraba is one of the most technical fighters that has ever existed.

Royce Gracie relied solely on technique.
