i'm surprised no one talks about him. he's the future for sure, at jmw or mw. he's so much better than jermain taylor was at this point, in terms of being an all around fighter, he's poised, has a good defense, athleticism, power and speed. the kid has everything....and to top it all off, he sounds like marvin hagler. he's had highlight reel knockouts in his last two fights, and destroyed the guy before, and manhandled grady brewer before that, a guy coming off of a huge upset knockout of hot prospect fernando guerrero.

He has the physical tools, I question his mental toughness though.

he's coming into his own now. frankly, you shouldnt judge him based off his earlier fights. something clicked, the kid is confident. he lacked that in the past.

I think he has the chance to be great. I've been saying since I saw him in the amateurs. I do have a few questions about his mentality, because he seems like he might be a bit soft mentally. I hope I'm wrong about that.

After his last fight, he said he was ready for Mayweather and Cotto.

So he should be ready for Canelo for sure. Maybe, get in some sort of elimination sweepstakes for Canelo.

I mean, his last three fights have ended how they should have, in early round destructions. before that, he dominated the rough, tough grady brewer, a guy who had just destroyed fernando guerrero, showbox's baby boy and a guy people were considering to be the next big thing. Not even kidding, demetrius andrade looks better than alot of guys out there right now.

I dont remember him saying that, but if he did, that's a stretch. he won't get mayweather, cotto or canelo anytime soon. firstly, his management wont rush him too quickly since he really seems to have superstar potential, and he has zero serious fanbase outside of the new england/connecticut area, making him extremely high risk/low reward for canelo and cotto. andrade has a ways to go before he can demand even a tournament bid for a shot at canelo. he's gotta get in the mid 20-0 range and keep impressing, maybe get on a good undercard against a delvin rodriguez or gabe rosado, before he starts making canelo sized moves.

I can just remember watching one of his fights maybe two or three years ago and he kept asking for positive reassurances from his cornermen during a fight that he was clearly winning. I had never seen that before and it seemed kind of odd. It might not be anything, but it could mean a lot.

What happens when he faces better opposition and gets put in a tough spot? In boxing, you have to do things for yourself and if he needs to be told how good he is during a fight, that's not what I would call a good sign. As I said, it may mean something or it might not.

On fnf one time he wasn't walking through his opponent as expected, he was asking his dad in the corner to tell him he's the best. You don't remember that? It was comical.

Otherwise very talented dude, reminds me of Dirrell, if he's got no mental issues he's major trouble for anyone at sww.

I can see the similarities with dirrell, and I'm not sure those corner problems are something to worry about, seeing that the brewer fight seemed to be a huge turning point for him.
