I didn't see a thread up about this, but watching '08 US Olympian Andrade against Hirsch tonight on FNF was pretty painful. I, along with others on this board, have high hopes for the Providence fighter, but he didn't do much to impress in the four round decision victory. Each round was fairly ugly, with Andrade loosely moving around, flinging big, looping shots. While he clearly won over the overmatched opponent, it wasn't the kind of performance that inspires confidence in his future. I don't want to be too harsh, though, because it's so early in his career, and he has such marvelous physical gifts; however, he either needs to step up the competition or find a way to get his head in the game. Anyone else catch the bout?
I thought Andrade looked about as bad as you could in route to winning a shutout. I'm not sure his playful, laid back approach is going to serve him well as he moves up in class. He certainly has the skills though.
Can't see the avatar, so I'll talk about the fight: Horrible, it was like he was fighting a less talented, slower, and less experienced version of himself. Just winging shots and posing and moving, getting off balance and out of position after throwing big winged shots. He's obviously has got some skill, but this crap better be corrected quick. He can win fights against tomato cans and C- level guys with this style, but that's it.
